Ladycare magnet, have you tried it and with what results?
      #212398 - 04/10/2008 15:05

I know this has been mentioned before and some members have tried using these magnets rather than H.R.T but I'm interested to know how you are getting on with them.
I've been Googling for information and have come up with very conflicting reviews. There is absolutely no scientific explanation of why they should have positive results in dealing with menopausal symptoms but some women claim that they've worked wonders,as well as those who say it was a waste of money.
Love to hear what you think about them before I rush off to buy one!

First of all, they are not cheap at £19.95, and there does seem to be no medical reason why they should work, but after being offered HRT by the doctor and being unsure whether or not to try it, I decided to give the magnet a try.

There is a list of symtoms on the box so I'll go through them:

Less (sic) hot flushes and night sweats - Yes, I've noticed a marked improvement.
Less bloating - I didn't really have a problem before
More restful sleep - Yes
Weight loss - I'm a Flabuless Forummer!
More confidence - I was confident before!
Better controlled emotions - No
Increased energy - Yes
Improved skin tone - Not that I've noticed
Irritability gone - NO BL**DY WAY!
Less vaginal dryness - I'm using a different product for that so I can't say if the improvement is down to Ladycare.

The biggest improvement for me has been in terms of the flushes and night sweats and general temperature control. I am feeling more energetic but then I've just had a holiday. I will say that as soon as I started wearing it I felt calmer, and apparently the assistants (of a certain age) in the Boot's branch where mine was bought swear by it!

Thanks Sella Vee.It's great to hear that you've had positive results.I'd love to hear if anyone else on the forum has tried it.
I came off HRT for various reasons and don't really have severe symptoms now but could still do with a bit of help for various symptoms.
I use Replens Md for Vaginal dryness and that has helped where everything else has failed.I'd definitely recommend that to anyone with problems. It can be bought on line and from Chemists. It is also available on prescription.Hope that might help someone.

Hi Dec, last year i bought two, one for myself and one for my daughter who was having a really rough time in her first year of having periods.

I thought it was ok, i couldn't say it made much difference, my daughter likes hers ( it is pink)

The main problem i had was; it often would fall into the loo when i went for a wee! (The two pieces are magnetic and attach onto your knickers) In the end i was worried i would be at work and one piece might fall down my down my trouser leg and pop out!

Hi sioned. I decided I'd just have to try one for myself and bought one today from Boots. Not so sure I would have if I'd read your post first!
Think I might just have bought a very expensive magnet and helped someone make lots of money out of menopausal women.I'll be a bit miffed if I flush it down the loo!
If it makes a difference I'll be absolutely thrilled.Whatever happens I will report back, assuming anyone is interested of course.
Great that your daughter thinks it's helping her though.

I've heard other people report that they fall off and roll under the cubicle next door! But if you attach it properly I don't think that will happen. The magnet is very strong.

Hi bit of an update.I've been "magnetised for 4 days now.Pleased to say it hasn't fallen off although my seat belt was stuck to my stomach after I'd unclicked it,and the car keys were also strangely attracted to the same area.
It's really too early to judge if I've had any significant results but I am feeling very up beat this week.I also haven't had night sweats so perhaps it might be working.
I am actually over most of the menopausal symptoms already but just wanting to make life as good as it can be.
I would love to know what experiences other people have had.
