Well, we have just returned from 2 weeks in Sunny Beach, Bulgaria.
It was not the greatest holiday, too commercialised!! It is just a resort for tourists from UK and Germany with lots of shops full of tat (rubbish goods made in Taiwan and China).
Pubs/restaurants trying to get you into their premises with offers of happy hour, two for one drinks/cocktails!
The weather was not good first week but second week was lovely.
Too many brit's on "all inclusive" who do nothing but drink and complain "breakfasts are geared for the Germans".
We just read books and rested most of the time, had few walks. Luckily we went end of season, not too many 18 - 30's age group there. After seeing what they post on U tube! it seems to be like Ibiza in the summer season!
People said that Nessebar was nice, so we went there for the day, just more tat shops.
Would not go there again, but might go to Sofia one day.
Don't do Sunny Beach, just go to blackpool instead!!
Not my kind of holiday.

I had to reply to this one as I went here 38 years ago!!!! I guess that is what you call progress. No one spoke English when I went (as a teenager) and I ended up in hospital with fish poisoning. I was very ill and often wondered about going back...definitely a no no now! Thanks for posting Librian chick! So sorry you didn't enjoy it though.

We went 4 years ago and I have to say we didn't like it much either, too many beggars in the evenings, bars were not comfortable, the beach although lovely, either had jelly fish or smelly seaweed every day and to top it all, hubby was in bed for a couple of days with food poisoning. He'd kept off of the meat and chicken and found out it was the eggs that were making him ill. But I have to say that I had the most fantastic massage on the beach given by a guy who could have doubled for Sylvester Stallone in his younger days, so it wasn't all bad
