Has anyone any experience or advice on this.My husband has to have his removed.It is very large and they don't know why.He has had a CT scan and a bone marrow biopsy and apart from identifying this large spleen everything else was clear.Any help/advice gratefully received.

Don't worry... he will manage perfectly well without it. Will just need antibiotics sometimes, to cover things like dental extractions, just in case....

One of my drivers had his removed about 25 years ago and it hasn't really changed anything except as expat has said re the antibiotics.

My brother had his removed too and no ill effects 20 years on. Again just given antibiotics if any problems with infections.
