Hi Summer,

My 19 year old daughter and I both wear a lot of eye make-up and we love MAC.

They do SO many colours and the products are great and last for ages.

We also love their make-up brushes.

Hi Summer,

I must have tried every make of eyeshadow through the years.

I have now found the one that I will stick with for ever. Bobbi Brown. Quite expensive but well worth it. If you go for one of her palettes, the brushes included are superb. You can buy on-line and QVC have a small selection.

Hope this helps.

Thank you ladies,i have often thought of spending more money on the more expensive brands but to be honest didnt have it when children were young but now well..... LO

I may try and find the brands you mention on the web for the time being just to try them out.

Have you looked at the "makeup alley website" its a American review site but really good :-)

Summer it depends on your budget. Bourjois has good staying power, lots of colours and is a reasonable price. YSL is such a creamy texture, at the high end of the price range though.

I bought an eyeshadow compact from M&S and it's really good quality. I bought the "earth" shades but there are different combinations. I use it all the time.

Bobbie Brown are brilliant and if you wet them you can use as eyeliner.

Mac and Dior are also really good.

I'm another fan of Mac & Bobbi Brown but, if I'm on an economy drive, I often buy Boots 17. They have some nice colours.

I agree with gigi about bourjois. I think it's really good value for money. If its my birthday I ask for Mac!

I really like the range of colours in the Body Shop. They have some lovely soft, matt shades which are really nice & not tooooooo pricey.

I'm in to cream eyeshadows now as they stay longer and don't settle into those laughter lines!! I like Clinique but pricey for the size.

I am a Mac fan - I love going to their concession stands as the assistants are always so outrageous, they are all really friendly and you can book a make up lesson - I found that they weren't too pushy aferwards to make you buy which was really good.

Bare Escentuals is also good - I get it off QVC, and agree that Bobbi Brown do some lovely palettes.

I'm yet another fan of Mac, Bobbi Brown and Clinique. Also love By Terry, from Space NK.

Mac, Bobbi Brown and Clinique are nice, but have you tried the Barbara Daley range at Tesco. Really good value for money, and often recommended in the fashion mags.

In the series "Just Shoot Me", Nina looks at Myra who is looking a bit rough and concludes " You've obviously had an emotional trauma and then chosen the wrong eyeshadow."
It's so important to get it right don't you think?

Hi Summer

I was going to suggest Bobby Brown and Clinique but everyone else already has.
I bought some Clinique products yesterda and got a free gift of about 6 different products, really worth it. If you check their website you can see what stores the promotions are in.There was a palette of two eyeshadows and blusher included plus eye cream, mascara, moisturiser, scrub cream, make up remover,I think that was all.
