For a long time now I've felt my life was spiralling out of control - working too many hours, rushing around, little exercise, not enough time with family and friends, spending too much, eating, drinking and weighing too much but finally - enough is enough!!
Yesterday I took control of the £££. Today I need to start taking control of the other sort of pounds (or kilos). I've known this for a long time but have had great trouble getting motivated so I have decided to announce my intentions to the world in the hope it will shame me into keeping my resolution (yes, I know I posted on Mangetouts thread last night saying no more resolutions, but a girl can change her mind in the sober light of morning )
I am going to set myself achievable (I hope) targets the first of which is to lose 10lb (preferably before CG, but 10lb anyway). I need to lose more but that's a start.
And I am going to limit myself to wine (in moderation) on one night of the week instead of every night ( I just can't give it up altogether )
I will then post my progress here which will probably be of no interest to anyone else so apologies for taking up post space but hopefully it will keep me on the straight and narrow (and will be cheaper than WW so a tick in the limiting spend box too).
However if anyone wants to join me or to offer crumbs of comfort / support (fixated on food or what???) I would love to hear from you.
Hope it's ok to post something like this.
Off to do some work now - can't tick all the boxes in one go!!!

Good luck to you in your new regime. I am starting a similar thing but it will have to wait until after my girls weekend next week. My plan is healthier eating, more exercise and (hopefully) no wine! My target is 14lb weight loss by christmas. I need to lose considerably more but that's my starting target.
Also, cutting back on spending which isn't so much a choice thing more a neccessity (sp).
Anyway, feel free to pm me and let me know how you are getting on. I will post my targets next Monday. If nothing else it might help me keep on track.

April, CheshireCat and Hollyj - this forum is the best place for motivation and support. I joined the Flabuless Forumers in August and have found the support and encouragement from all the other ladies absolutely inspiring. I've lost nearly 7 lbs - NOT by dieting, but just eating less and only eating when hungry. I've still got a bit to go, but I am sure I'll do it. It is all about being in control of what you eat and drink and not letting it control you.
Good luck all of you and well done for taking that first step.

Good luck ... I joined Slimming World quite recently and I have resolved to lose a stone before Xmas, which is about 12 weeks away isn't it?
I actually find it a lot easier to lose in the winter as in the summer I want to sit around drinking wine every night!

Hi everyone
Many, many thanks for your replies - it's really encouraging to know I'm not alone and I will certainly pm you CheshireCat with updates. I don't want to 'compete' with the FF as this is about more than just losing weight so I hope they won't mind if I sometimes post updates too.
I went to an awful meeting this evening connected with work and whereas normally I'd have come home and had a big G&T this time I resisted temptation as I didn't want to have to confess I'd fallen at the first hurdle (I feel soooo virtuous LOL).
Do please pm me to and let me know how you're doing and welcome CharliesAngel - this really is an addictive site!
Unfortunately the weather has no effect on the amount of wine I consume
Best wishes everyone xx

Hi all of you. Have just registered for the forum tonight. I need to lose quite a bit - at least two stone. My daughter has just announced her engagement, and I really don't want to be a chubby mother of the bride. Since I have thee daughters it seems sensible to only do the weight loss once, and then still be gorgeous when the third one gets married or whatever she chooses to do for committment (she's only 15!)I need to stop drinking wine too, but more than that I nee to be able to have the od glass without the chocolate/crisps etc which seem to go with it.
