As there seem to be a few of us on the island, is anyone interested in having an informal walking club - a shortish walk on a Saturday, perhaps late morning, taking in a pub for a drink and/or a sarnie? If so, what about Saturday 18th October?
If you're interested please add to the thread or pm me so we can arrange something. I've got several ideas for posssible walks but would welcome suggestions of which part of the island would be a good place to start.
Do let me know what you think before I lose my courage and bottle out of this completely. Trying to start something like this is way out of my usual comfort zone, but hey - how hard can it be????????

Would people from the mainland be welcome? If so, can you put me down as a definite maybe. I love the island and go often and love to walk there.

I'm also a definite maybe - depending if I keep my nerve organising this

We usually cross on Red Funnel to Cowes. Where are you?

Hi Aprilisland,
I live in Southampton, don't give up on organising a meet on the 18th I would love to join you if I can. I would probably come over as a foot passenger so if it would be possible to have some bus times ect, that would be great.
As you know I have just started a supper club in Southampton and it is worth the nerves, you meet such nice people and have a great gossip and giggle.

I'd be interested in joining in but live on the mainland, usually go via Hovercraft, so would need bus times etc. Unfortunately I'm already committed to something onthe 18th, but - if you'll let me! - would love to join in another time.

Would be delighted if you could join us one day - so far everyone who's expressed an interest is from the mainland. We've just decided to change the date to 19th October so don't know if that makes a difference - pm if you can.
