just wondering if any of you ladiesthat walk have ever done the Camino , I was in Santiago de Compostela last week and was awed by some of the walkers most had done the short walks 100 / 200ks but lots of them that walked 1000s of kilometres, I spoke to one lady who walked from Sweded another couple from Belguim and a few people who walked over several years .
I want to do it in 2010 but think I have to start training now , would love to hear from anyone who has done it

Hi Spanishlady, I keep looking to see if you've had any replies as I would be really interested to hear about it. I've done a tiny bit of the route (about 2km!!!) near Roncesvalles and am now fascinated by the idea of doing a lot more.

Hopefully there's someone out there who has done it!

it depends on fitness 100 or 200 klms I would like to do the English Way it starts form Ferrol where the Irish and English pilgrims landed but the most popular is the French Way so it is better signposted and has more hostels, there is a brilliant site www.SantiagoTurismo.com that tells you about all the walks

Many thanks for the link - it's really good. I would love to have a go at it one day but realistically can't see it happening. Good luck and do let me know how you get on.

Hi there, I've done some of it maybe 50 kms and I think it all depends on your fitness levels and your desire. I did it a few years back but would love to have another "go". All the best.
