Would anyone like to recommend a hotel/b&b in North or Mid Devon please? We have just decided to have a few days in the West Country and really don't know where to start looking.
Thanks.

Hi Lucii
This is a really good website for chosing a farm bed and breakfast - have used it often, but not Devon as luckily have a daughter living there - best b&b around..lol

We recently had a weekend break at Rock House in Lynmouth, North Devon. Fantastic food, lovely rooms, friendly staff, beautiful scenery (Watersmeet is a must if you can manage the steep walk back). Well recommended.

Lucii, I think North Devon would be a better place to stay than Mid Devon, as there's not much to do in Mid Devon and it's approx an hour’s drive to the seaside. We do have Exmoor in Mid Devon which has some lovely B&B's and beautiful countryside, so it might be worth while seeing what is available on Exmoor.
But if its long walks on the beach you're after, I'd go to North Devon if I were you. I think or Croyde or Woolacombe are both nice areas. Check them out on the internet.
Saunton Sands is a really nice hotel but it's sooooooooo expensive!! Perhaps you could get an autumn deal?
Good luck.

Oh and I stayed in Broadclyst, Exeter, Devon, UK. It was in easy distance to the large cathedral town of Exeter and very near to the National Trust's Killerton House. Loved this B&B Click on link below to see details http://www.heathgardens.co.uk/ We stayed in this B&B for two nights and would highly recommend it. The village was pleasent and easy walks to the local pubs and sites of interest.
At £25 per person per night which included a delightful full english breakfast.
Please mention, if you book this place, me Debbie & OH. We stayed the end of this August for 2 nights. We loved the place Sadly as OH wanted a prompt start I forgot to sign their visitors book and just paid the owners and left with Oh dragging my bag to the car.

Thanks Jane. Saunton Sands looks lovely and they have great offers at the moment but they don't take dogs. Poo.

Hi Lucci, Here is a lovely looking farm on Exmoor. We didn't stay there as they were fully booked when we wanted to go but the web-site looks lovely. 'North Wheddon Farm'. I think that will find it on Google. Not sure about the dogs.....you would need to check. Phone is 01643 841791 in case web-site doesn't work!
