      #194821 - 14/09/2008 21:24

I need your help.
I have just moved to the Stamford/ Peterborough area and left behind a fantastic hairdresser.

You know what it's like.

Who wants a bad hair day when they are begining the rest of their life!!!
Any suggestions?

ED and DIL live near Stamford and its a lovely shopping place. Not sure about who she uses as a hairdresser (they live in Empingham) - if she knows of any, I will let you know!

I should imagine there is a Toni and Guy in Peterborough, but have often come out looking great and then not been able to do it myself. Although, I know its a bit of a trek, can highly recommend my old (well young really) hairdresser in Cambridge. Only about 40 minute drive.
All stylists are good, Daniel, Alex or Johnny are the bestest. Wish someone could recommend a good hairdresser in Shropshire - am getting a bit disappointed. Have actually driven back to Cambridge to have my hair cut, but it is probably better to find someone good in Brum? Anybody know a good one?

USAdreamer and Mollymandy it may be worth looking up on the web to see if there's any uk hair award winners near you - you can't go far wrong with them

Thanks Bellan - only 10 miles from Wolverhampton, so will check Compton out... I did try looking online, but tricky to know who is good and who is really good!

Apparently there is a good one in Fletton peterborough on the high street- I live in peterborough but haven't been to him because he's very expensive and out of my budget! I can find out the details for you if you like-pm if you want them.

Thanks bellan - thats a very 'Hamptons name - made me smile. Will give him a go - the last one I used in Newport (Shrops) was £45, so nothing new there... think more expensive than Cambridge!

Their website is pretty impressive and their wedding in London did include a few celebs - so guess he must be well known... just thought initially that his name was Royston Blythe, rather than Royston and Blythe - lateral thinking working overtime there. One of our friends (an estate agent) from Wolverhampton is always going on about The Hamptons (Wergs, Tettenhall, Pattingham, etc), so I thought the name was a bit loveyist... Will definitely be making an appointment over the next couple of weeks.

Hi USAdreamer ! I have a home in Rutland so know the area well. A good hairdressers is Cawthorne & Wright in Oakham or Gerards in Stamford (next to the Goerge Hotel) or Sloanes in Uppingham. Sorry girls, but have tried Royston Blyth (long story !) and was not terribly impressed with what they did with my hair !

I have not noticed any walking or supper clubs in the Rutland or Peterborugh area online.

Any suggestions to a new girl on the block how you can settle into the area and make new friends?
