We are going out for with family and friends for dinner on my son's 30th for about 20 people. Smart/suit dress code but not sure what would be right to wear - am mid 50s - 5' 8" size 14.
Need to do the cover up arm thing - would love to hear what anyone else might wear for a similar dinner party. Thx

People will only see from the waist up during the meal, so a simple top and a great necklace is a good look
Avoid sleeves that might droop in the soup

Agree with wispa, wallis have some nice tops at the moment, and if you fancy a skirt they have lovely fishtail ones in red or black. Have a look at their site

Im almost the same size / age as you, your an inch taller !! per una in Marks have some nice tops at the moment,ive just bought a couple, black trousers ?

Many thanks for the ideas - especially the Wallis suggestion. Went onto their site and saw several things that I like the look of!
