I need some advice please. We didn't have a summer holiday this year- many of you will realise why. So I have promised my two - girl recently 15 and boy recently 13 - that we can go away somewhere for a few days in October half term. never done that before so Im totally confused. Been on internet but you need to know where you want to go. tried thomas Cook and the girl there e mailed me after 3 hours with just one idea - der!!! So I need some advice on where to take them, apparently it has to be warm with fit boys (thats Ds request) Son doesnt want to sit on a beach so need some activities And I just want to chill and not pay a lot of money. So I did think 5 days somewhere would be nice. Has to be b and b or self catering because life on holiday is usually a nightmare when u r veggie, and dtr doesnt eat fish. plus I dont want to hire a car - I want a rest and driving to the airport is bad enough. So ideas please, is it Algarve? Spain- if so where? Malta( doesnt it rain a lot?) Help please - all ideas considered, and we dont want to be off beaten track cos with 3 of us they need other teenagers around. Thankyou Faithfulone ps had the offer of a cheap flat in Paphos - is that a good idea?

Hi Faithfulone
If you hadn't said it has to be warm I would have suggested Centre Parcs and that'll keep the teenagers occupied and happy with loads of teenagers around. Self catering. Sadly lacking the weather but everyone says how much they enjoy it.

Well gyp I actually suggested that this morning to D - even suggested one in holland which means just a ferry and a nice policeman I met explained how great it was and his family always go there - funny what you talk about when waiting for a court case! But D firmly said - i want a tan - you think I may have to argue that cos I did Center parcs France as a family and it was good. Plus I like easy travelling and my car is v small Thankyou for the idea though faithfulone x

Hi faithfulone - do they do fake tans in the Spa at Centre Parcs - if so tell her that you'll treat her to one before she comes home.

Good thinking Duckegg Im beginning to wonder who this holiday is for! I certainly know I wasn't like that at 15. I may have to negotiate and the tan can be next summers holiday which will be far better, this is just a break. Meanwhile we have a free weekend in North Norfolk for the three of us - and Ive just booked seal watching trip. No sun - and lots of waterproofs. faithfulone

Hi Faithfulone, The weather in Malta is good in the day but cooler at night. Qwara is more like a seaside resort than most of the other places. Plenty of bars, restuarants, and theres plenty of buses from the bus station. You might find the fights are'nt cheap.[they certainly are not from East Mids and Birmingham our local airports] Good Luck with your search I hope you find somewhere you deserve it after all you,ve been through! Hi Faithfulone How about Turkey? The weather will be good and there are lots of all inclusive hotels, most with many restaurants.
We are going to Antalya in October for our 'holiday' and are staying here:http://www.concordehotel.info/ .
You can get cheap flights to Antalya and we booked the hotel through www.hotels.com and got it at a ridiculously cheap price. Many restaurants, so huge choice of food and lots of activities included in the price.

Hi Faithfulone Not sure how hot in Oct but we used to go a lot to La Manga Club in Spain. Self catering it is not expensive. Lots of "fit" young men as they are all training- usually tennis, but other sports available. Closed complex so you would need a car if you want to go exploring further.PM me if you want to know where we got our accomm from.
