I usually have my nails done at the beautician, but she's been off sick for a couple of months, and probably will be for a couple more.
For various reasons, I don't want to go anywhere else.
Has anyone tried tose DIY gel nails you cann buy in chemists and supermarkets. Not the acrylic ones (can't fave the white powder), and the gel ones look easier

I have used those stick on nails as I suffer from psorias of the nail bed and my own nails look horrible. The stick ons have certainly helped me out when I have been going out somewhere special and have not wanted to explain why my nails are so vile. However they are a bit messy to get off but did not make my condition any worse. I have now found a beautician who is prepared to do gel nails which is suiting me down to the groun. As a temporary measure I would say go for it.

I've got really weak nails, for lots of boring reasons.
There are various types of false nail - stick on. But they fall off - acrylic. mixed reports about these. You can do them yourself, but they are tricky. and you can end up with a lumpy or pitted surface.
-gel nails - you paint it on, then cure it with a spray activator, or with UV light. Easier to use apparently as it self levels. And you can put nail varnish on and "cure" it, so it doesn't chip.
It's really made a difference to my nails. You don't have to long false nail tips, but it does allow me to grow my nails to a normal length
