i love my husband dearly but every morning I wake up and want to strangle him!!! He snores.... To his credit he doesnt drink very much, isnt overweight and uses Snoreeeze every night-well when he remembers. Can anyone suggest anything he can take? Weve done the sleep on your side stuff and that doesnt work either. Any suggestions gratefully received.

My OH doesn't snore, he just makes a little hhhhhhhhhh! noise when he breathes in and a mmmmmmmmm! when he breathes out sounds harmless doesn't it, it's not that loud and actually I'm usually awake because I can't sleep anyway, but I still want to hit him!

I find a jab in the ribs and 'Will you stop snoring' usually works.

Okay, I have the reputation of being mad, so here goes.
OH snores like a train, I've tried poking, prodding, shouting, nothing worked. But then I'm a restelss sleeper, toss, turn, wander round the house.
But now we've cracked it. For some reason, I decided to sleep upside down. It's worked wonders. OH doesn't snore (or at least I don't hear him), and I don't toss and turn. For the first time in years we both get a good nights sleep.
I've mentioned this to a some friends, and a few have admitted they do the same

Now then wispa, when you say upside down is this suspended from the ceiling like this?

Well of course Andrea, strangling would indeed solve the problem. However, there is the small matter that you seem deeply attached to him so this solution might be a little disproportionate..
But - be careful be warned

Wispa, dont you get dizzy sleeping upside down (when my son and step son sometimes had to share a double bed when we were away, they used to sleep top to toe and my SS always reckoned it made him dizzy !!!!)

Ear plugs.
Have tried countless other techniques but this is the only one that stops my sleep being disturbed!
Lloyds chemist do some that are slightly smaller in size than Boots ones which are obviously designed for big (mens) ears!

I've always found that the spare room works wonders - failing that, a quick and painful death would also do the trick

Apparantly I snore very loudly. I didn't know this until I recently remarried and my lovely new husband had to break the news to me. It is apparantly so bad that we decided to try several different remedies. The first, a spray, was a complete failure. On to the next a device which delivers a small electrical charge when you snore; it looks like a watch and is strapped to the wrist. The level of strength to the charge can be altered according to pain threshold! This actually sounds worse than it was (and in my husband's defence I found this in a local chemist not him)but again turned out to be a failure. The problem was it was going off all night long delivering sharp buzzes to my wrist but not because of my snoring but my husband's! I ditched that very quickly. He has now resorted to earplugs. When he first showed me them I thought they were to go up my nose! Thankfully they seem to be working, however they haven't stopped either of us from snoring.

Apparently losing weight and no drinking are two ways that snoring can be diminished. Needless to say I snore very loudly too!!
