Silver Wedding Dress - can you help
      #179811 - 27/08/2008 22:20

Hi All, this is my first post, so here's hoping.

It's my silver wedding in October and we have decided to splash out on big party, with swing band etc. My only problem now is what to wear.

Has anyone any ideas. i am a small, size 14, 40 something. I had thought of trying to get something like a silver, cocktail dress, maybe brocade with a balconette (i think that's what its called) neckline. I am open to all ideas and any good shops you can recommend. I live in Glasgow.
Many thanks

Welcome to the forum ddmfletch.

Have you thought about having a free session with a personal shopper, down south Debenhams and John Lewis offer this service. You have to book. They do all the hard work for you while you relax with a coffee, They will also keep within your set budget. just a thought. Brandyqueen x

That's a really good idea. Thanks for that. We have a Debenhams here in Glasgow. Sometimes the easiest solutions are staring you in the face. I will let you know how I get on.

Give yourself plenty to time to look. The perfect dress is out there waiting for you. We had a big bash for ours some 8 years ago now - oh God I feel old! - and I made it black tie so the girls could dress up! I found the perfect thing in silver with a small bolero. Took a bit of trawling round but it was worth it. It is the nearest time you get to being the centre of attaction again, since your wedding day, so make the most of it!! Enjoy!

Don't discount looking at dress hire agencies either - they often have some stunning pieces that you can hire for a week or two.
