Day 144 Do You Cross Your Legs?
      #173750 - 21/08/2008 06:45

Good morning everyone,

I have just read yesterdays post and I agree with you all - this is not a diet - its grabbing control back.

mjm, where would we be without you? - my goal is strappy top and white jeans - you make it sound so good and achievable.

I couldn't sleep last night and have spent the last 3 hours listening to obscure radio programmes.

Did you know that when trying to learn something, listen and retain something - open up your mind and physcy (can't spell it), you should never cross any parts of your body ie, legs, ankles, arms, hands etc.

Apparantly it blocks your receptive channels.

The ideal positions are sitting with your feet firmly on the ground with your hands loosly at your sides or lying down with your feet slightly apart and hands, flat palms down, on the couch either side of your body.

When you think about it pmk and others always have the people they are working on in these open positions.

I notice that when I am relaxing and listening to pmk, I lie on the bed with my ankles crossed - (blame crossed ankles on my failure to loose this week LOL).

I am going to try being more open and "resceptive with my lying down posture!!!

How do you listen to pmk?

Its my day 24 and every little helps

Gilley x

Hi,
usually when I listen to PMK I'm lying on the sofa with one hand on the dog sat at the side (if she thinks I'm not aware that she's there she'll climb up and try to lie on top of me which is not good for relaxing) and ankles resting on one of the arms.

To be honest I've not listened enough lately but am trying to do better (as my school reports used to say).

Chrissi

Hello Gilley and good morning chrissi
Thank you for reminding us that listening to pmk is important.I meant to listen eevery day this week but so far have managed only once!

I have to confess that how I listen to pmk is ...asleep! I have never heard the whole CD all the way through. For all I know, it could be absolute silence in the middle. However, I always wake up promptly at the end, so I must be listening on some level. I wonder if that means I'd be very susceptible to hypnosis...

Have a good day everyone. I am going to eat very consciously and slowly today, with lots of fruit and protein to make up for a very stodgy day yesterday (not my fault, was visiting a friend who produced a very carbohydrate rich meal!)

Good mornng gilley, Chrissi, and valaber. I tend to listen to "I can make you fall asleep in the middle" when I'm in bed. I start off lying flat on my back in a pose similar to the one I used to use at the end of yoga lessons (I used to fall asleep there too). While the CD is playing I sometimes go over onto my side and into a foetal position. Like valaber, I always wake up at the end!

gilley, I'm having problems sleeping too. Last night I put PMK on at 3am. Fortunately OH is away. I find listening to the CD stills my mind enough for me to fall asleep when I've finished listening to it. I'm sure I've read somewhere that getting plenty of sleep helps you to lose weight. Of course that might just be because when you are asleep you can't be downstairs raiding the fridge!

Chrissi, I don't know why, but I have found that the more I listen to the CD the better I do.

Have a great day everyone, even though it's tipping down rain.

I lie on the bed flat on my back and, like you Val, I always fall asleep!! I wake up just as he begins to mention the word 'wake'! I have heard before that being 'open' in your body language makes things easier to sink in. I worry that I'm a suggestible person - wouldn't dare to be hypnotised. I will listen to PMK later this morning as I'm not at work - got shingles!!!
Don't feel particularly hungry either, maybe it's the one good side effect! LOL
Anne xx

I have never fallen asleep while listening to PMK... yet!

chris-in-france, you made me laugh. Twice when I was listening to PMK in the daytime my OH walked in and disturbed me. The second time he even thought he'd get onto the bed and give me a cuddle!!!! I told him to go away and that if he kept disturbing me I might end up walking round the room clucking like a chicken! Like Anne, I worry about being hypnotised.

Anne, I hope you're feeling better soon. It's not nice having shingles.

Spanishlady, have you tried lying on your front while you listen? I don't think you can snore if you're lying face down.

Hi ladies

I too listen lying flat on my back on the bed. Unfortunately I can usually hear quite alot of noise from downstairs with the two dogs and D and Oh and S all getting up to mischief. I haven't fallen asleep during it but I do feel incredibly relaxed afterwards. To be fair to my family if I specifically say I'm going upstairs to listen to my CD they do try to keep the noise down..

Just to finish on a nice story...
I am going to a retirement do this lunchtime but had to come in to work early for a few hours. So I was up early and got ready and thought I didn't look too bad. Just as I was leaving the house OH came downstairs and said "you look stunning!" not just nice but "STUNNING" .... guess who went to work with a smile on her face...

What a lovely story Sally, you could change your name to StunningSallykins now, that has a nice ring to it, dont you think??

Keep that smile on your face all day, you will share your happiness, and warm people around you.

Hi everyone - nice to be back with you - I've been so busy over the last couple of days I haven't had time to log on. I really do think that lack of contact with you all makes a difference to the way I eat - in a negative way. Yesterday, perhaps because I hadn't logged on, I had a really terrible day - I just kept on eating (most of it was starchy) and ended up feeling really disappointed in myself, and very sluggish because of it. When I log on and have a 'chat' with you all, I seem to be much more in control and feel much better and happier for it. It's frightening, really - it made me realise just how quickly I could go back to my old habits.

Gilley, what you said about receptive posture was interesting - I tend to cross my ankles when I'm listening to PMK - at least until, like you valaber and Sella, I fall asleep!

Sorry to hear you have shingles Anne - not very nice. Hope you'll soon be feeling better.

How lovely to be told you look stunning, Sallykins - no wonder you went out with a smile on your face!

Hope you all have a good day. xx

Everytime I've fallen asleep listening to PMK I've ended up with a springer spaniel on top of me! Trying to stretch before I'm fully awake makes me feel like I've just gained 20 pounds when that happens!

Afternoon ladies.

Sally that's marvellous - hope you're still smiling

Anne, I hope your on the better side of recovering form the shingles, I hear it's very painful.

I haven't listended to PMK yet - I'm hoping to start this weekend. I'm off work for a week so should be able to listen a few times. I hadn't heard about the crossing of legs so will bear that in mind.

Have a lovely day, ladies.

Sally, isn't it great when the OH suddenly notices you!! And I bet he really meant it, cos if men are just being polite the say "You look nice". I expect you've made his day too, because he's married to a stunner!!! Well done.

AlexP, welcome back, I've missed you too.

Intlw, well done on the 20 lengths.
