Hi everyone
I was wondering - have any of you used the Relate online service? I usually can't get out of work to see them, but can always send an email. If so, is it worth the money? I think it's about £25 or so.

Hope your ok...  I'm getting vibes that your not possibly in a great place at the moment. I can't think online would be as good as coming on here personally... lots of ladies with real hands on experience to lend a sympathetic ear, support, advice by pm if better..
There is light at the end but it does take time, inner strength and a braveheart

if you're going to seek advice from a Relate Counsellor I would advise going to see them face to face. You can go on Saturdays and I would say it's definitely worth the money. I have personal experience of this and was very impressed with the service. Give it a try! What's the worst that can happen!!!!

Hi sometime ago my partner and I went to Relate. We only went the once! Both of us thought the "Counsellor" was appalling and felt she could not help us. We than contacted another Counsellor and went regularly and so overtime she really helped us sort our issues out. We found her through the federation of counsellors, they provided us with list of qualified counsellors, and I still believe its best to go to someone qualified and not a 'lay person'. Its ok talking to someone, but a some point you will probably want to involve your partner, they might not be so keen to discuss online or with a non-qualified person.
Whatever, you do, make sure that you are both with the counsellor, and in particular, not biased towards either party. Hope this is helpful.

Hi BC, sorry I don't know anything about Relate, but if you're having problems that you can't sort out yourself I'd recommend going to see someone - it's worth every penny - it's your future. Like Alig says, it's really important to find someone you are comfortable with. There's some great ones out there and also some that can do more harm than good. Best of luck. (I've been there, and had both kinds - when I was having problems with my now ex husband the counsellor was so taken with him she was totally biased. He even admitted it. The 'advice' she was giving was unbelievable.)

Mixed views on this one, we went to relate and it done absolutley nothing for us. But as others have said, it depends on the counsellor. Fortunately we sorted out our differences and everything is ok now.
