cold sores, help
      #172021 - 19/08/2008 07:05

woke up today with a big cold sore on my lip, yesterday i was feeling very depressed, still trying to fill my 30 page E Form for the courts in connection with my divorce, so i am thinking that stress probably brought it on.

I've tried tea tree oil, but hasn't worked in the past, any suggestions please.

Blistex or Lipseaze is good : Boots pharmacy are always very helpful if you ask. Stress really does make these little blighters crop up. Poor you, hang in there.

Morning green_eyes and hope you are feeling better!

My ED suffers really badly with them - every summer without fail and also brought on by stress. She finds that Zorvirax is best for her (not very costly either) and has a tube handy all the time. There was another thread here some months back (around June) with the name of a "Zapper" which I bought for her - as luck would have it, she has not had to use it yet but they apparently do work really well. The other thing that I heard was mens aftershave (although in your situation you might hate mens aftershave!! . It stings like the bugger but they are gone within a day or two. Good luck and best wishes.

Think zapper is called Virulite?

I use blistex mainly, but also use witch hazel if it's a swollen one.

Think Zovirax is just about the best thing - but you have to get it on as soon as you feel that "tingling". Hope you feel better soon - I always get them when I'm stressed too.

I read that a strong solution of coffee dabbed on helps a lot...I used that quite a bit, worth a try.
I now get less than I used to, but carry Zivorex all the time still.

Virulite Zapper : ED has just returned today from Turkey and got two corkers of cold sores which she instantly zapped - a day later they were gone - so clearly worth the money and a great success.

Hi Rcey

I am glad you got the Virulite zapper for your daughter. My husband thinks they are wonderful but I was convinced it was a con when he bought it because it seemed so unlikely that it would work.

Notice you have not changed your name!
