I am planning to visit Elounda in Crete in September and was wondering if anyone had stayed at the Blue Palace Hotel and Spa in Elounda.

Bit of a silly question I know, but is it the blue hotel facing Spinalonga? Went past it last year and it looks lovely, quite a walk from Elounda town though but you may not need/want to leave the hotel. Their website looks amazing.

There are some reviews on trip advisor

Hi Thanks for coming back to me - I think it does look out onto Spinalonga, have not as yet met anyone that has stayed there but we have booked it now and hopefully we will get some sun when we get there. Will keep you updated.

I have just returned from Crete and would highly recommmend visiting Spinalonga across the water from Elounda - it really is a fascinating place and it was very sad to hear about the lepers and their life on the island. Victoria Hislop's recent book "The Island" is a fictional account of life on Spinalonga and is a well recommended, gripping read!

Hi Spangle

Thanks for coming back to me - I am reading the island which inspired me to go. Will keep you updated on the hotel, it seems as if it is 3-4 times more expensive than anaywhere else in Elounda and I was note sure that it would be worth the extra money but as it is booked I will have to see when I get there.
