umm? crikey! I can't remember...Thomson spirit of something or other???? We purposely didn't look into it in too much detail as then you start thinking oh no that's not quite right or something else won't do..well we do anyway. We just thought go for it and have a nice time. It's just around the med...we have cruised before so we've been to a couple of the places but not to all and as it's august hopefully we'll have some nice sunshine!
I'm just so excited!!!

We DID dine at the captain's table on our first cruise! It was a lovely surprise to be asked and we've no idea why we were!
Oh said it was the only really decent wine he had all through the cruise! He certainly drank enough of it!
I was seated across the table from him on that particular night...next to a very charming chap! OH kept glaring daggers at him, no doubt egged on by the excellent wine he had drunk, and I kept on trying to indicate (discreetly) that there was no need to worry as he was very obviously gay.....

I've never been on a cruise but think I would love to try it - my OH has been on several. I did once do a 'Star Clipper' cruise which was one of my best holiday ever but not quite the same thing...
My big problem - and trust me, it drives me nuts - is that my husband works in travel, so when I see a deal/flight/holiday he says...leave it to me, I will sort it, and get a great deal for us. And guess what - we have less holidays than anyone I know! And because he goes on lots of 'fam trips'and 'conferences' it's not an issue for him - he is going to the Canary Islands for nearly 2 weeks in October and possibly Jamaica for 2 weeks in December...
I suppose like having a plumber/carpenter/builder, whatever for a husband, but so bloody annoying!
Sorry if I seem I'm whinging but it drives me to distraction xxx :-)

Hi Cupcake,
We are off around the Med on a cruise too, on 29th! It couldn't be the same ship could it?!

Just re-read your post. Not the same ship as we are on a Royal Caribbean ship - eastern Med.
Have fun, Cupcake.

Thanks for all you replies ladies! Very much appreciated. Can anyone tell me how formal, or even informal, dining is on board Thomson Spirit? We've done a Page and Moy cruise before which have casual and formal evenings, the formal evenings requiring posh frocks etc...which of course is fine, but am i likely to need them this time?

Cupcake, its as formal as you want to, theres 24/7 buffet and the posher dining room where you are served by waiters, theres the daily news letter that tells you whats happening that day and whether its a dressy night or not, then of course the captains dinner.

That Star Clipper cruise. Was it in the Far East. Now that is one place I would love to cruise. Singapore to Thailand, staying in Phuket for a week, then fly home. My idea of a wonderful holiday. Have been to both places and I love Thailand
