Can any of you ladies out there recommend something to put on fine hair before going out in the sun abroad to stop the dryness and frizzing??

There should be lots of products in the shops. I have very fine hair too but don't put anything on it. Instead, I use lots of conditioner when I get back inside.

There are lots of products. One I like, and use most summers if I'm having a real 'beach' type holiday, is made by the excellent French company Phyto and is Phytoplage Sun Veil. The Phyto products are available in shops like Space NK, and also on their website, and the HQ Hair website. I notice that Frederic Fekkai (available in same sort of places as Phyto) are also doing something similar. For cheaper products, I would go to a large branch of Boots and have a browse. I'm sure I've seen some.

My friend is a hairdresser and when we go anywhere sunny, even our back gardens, she always wears a hat. Says the sun dries your hair and it becomes limp and breaks. Her hair is lovely and apart from wear a hat and use a good conditioner, that it, she does not really bother that much!

So advice is, wear a hat.

Thanks for the replies. A hat it is then and plenty of conditioner!!! I have tried Sun/hair products without much success.

Clairol, or is it L'oreal, do a brilliant conditioner. The same one you get in hair colours, but they sell it separatley. About 99p, and has 3 applications. I got mine in Sainsbury's.

I took it on holiday, and used it every other day instead of once a week, and it was wonderful.

I've got thick hair, so hate hats as I get too hot, and my hair is coloured, and I spent a lot of time in the pool.

I can't wear a hat all the time....lots of leave in conditioner and I wash chlorine out of my hair every time I come out of the pool. It hasn't turned green yet and was told when I had my hair cut in the UK last week it was in good condition in spite of constant sunshine.
