Hello Friends
At what age did you stop getting any wolf whistles ?? Or do you still get them ?? Does it bother you that you dont get the admiring glances or whistles any more ?! Or have you never had them ??
I myself have noticed at the grand age of 47 lol, that not only do I not get them now, (not that I got many lol !) but that I can honestly say I dont care, it feels a relief almost not to have a passing driver toot or make the embarrassing whistle !
Also happily in a very settled relationship I dont feel that 'need' to have the whistles anymore, like I did say in my 30's.
What are your opinions on this ?

Hi Lillie,
I must admit I used to get loads when I was younger!
Now it's my beautiful 19 year old daughter who gets them!

Hallo Lillie, yes I used to get wolf whistles and yes I found them embarrasing but i also felt very flattered, I have not had any wolf whistles for many years now but when my OH and I were playing golf a couple of weeks ago we invited a stranger to join us because he was on his own and he complemented me on my golf to my OH then he added and good looking too. I am now 72 years of age so that really perked me up. Daisy

I can't remember the last time I got a wolf whistle, it was so long ago! I never knew how to react but now I would just be extremely grateful!! Of course it all depends who is doing the whistling too.

Hi Lillie,
Yes, I used to get them when I was younger, it was probably the extremely short minis I used to wear and plunging necklines, but sadly, I like you, dont get them anymore, I wouldnt say I dont care, it would be nice, but then I would probably question whether the guy needed glasses ha ha.
However, in saying that, I always seem to get a lot of attention from really old men, yes, I mean really old men, I was at a fete not that long ago, on my own, and I was queuing up to buy a cold drink and a sandwich. This really old man was stood behind me, and mentioned what a lovely day it was, I reciprocated his observation, and we got chatting, he not only asked me if I was married, but bought me a sandwich and a cold drink!!!! after that, I couldnt get rid of him.
I sometimes think it does you good whether you are 30 or 60 to get a little attention from members of the opposite sex it gives yuor morale a boost.

I wonder whether it is because in these days of ultra political correctness, whether men still do wolf whistle? Or perhaps they may shout something a little more explicit? Get the odd toot !

yes I occasionally still get them but sadly it's mainly from behind these days! Then I walk along too terrified to turn round in case they see my face and are horrified!!!!!!!!!
There was something on here once before about 16 from behind and 60 from the front....maybe I should take a good long look at myself and learn something!!!!!!!!!!

Being Blonde, and looking not to bad from the back, I still get the occasional whistle, what a shock they get if I turn round!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
about 6 years ago my friend & I were were 53 and 55 standing on a building site on the foundations of a house I was buying, it was a hot summer day we both wore shorts both Blonde, we had our back to the road looking at the garden, there was suddenly a chorus of whoops and whistles from the workmen, we looked at each other and turned round at the same time, What a hoot!! their faces, don't care though it did us a world of good!!

I remember walking back from Westerham in Kent to Sevenoaks, it was Sunday and a friend and I had forgotten there were no buses. (1970's) In a state of boredom we decided to count how many wolf whistles we got on the long walk back!!!!! Don't ask me how many there were, but we didn't do bad. We were 16/17 and can't remember when the last time was, but know it was LOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time ago!!

The last time for me, was earlier this year by a workman on the scaffolding at work, which was a bit embarrassing as it was also heard by the big boss!
Several years ago Mr F and I went to visit an elderly relation in a home and whilst we were chatting to the matron an elderly lady (80+) went by using a zimmer frame. The matron complimented the lady on her new hair style and Mr F gave her a wolf whistle. You should have seen the change in her, she gave Mr F a saucy smile over her shoulder and positively minced off down the corridor with her zimmer frame. So in response to the question, I don't think you are ever too old.

Your Mr F is a kind man, what a lovely thing to do. I use to get workmen shouting out 'Hullo red' referance to my hair!! Another time a friend and I was out walking in Fulham, lorry driver shouted out 'cheer up loves' grrrrrrrh

I can't remember when I last heard a wolf whistle, either for me or anyone else.
Doesn't bother me and don't need them but I can remember how nice it was to be whistled at.

Is it still PC to do so? Can not remember the last time someone wolf whistled at me ! Like you Ozzie I to would check to see who they were whistling at and just in case it was me If I hear one now it is normally not for me but my 19 year old daughter who is out with me or for some young lady across the road.

Oddly enough I got a few wolf whistles the other day for the first time in years. I was just coming out of Boots in town when a small group of men standing on the other side of the road wolf whistled as me!!
I felt embarrassed and slightly flattered at the same time!!

I haven't had any since I was in my 20's. I used to hate walking past building sites.
But a few months ago some bloke in a white van beeped me as I was walking along. I was wearing a flowery patterned zipper jacket at the time so possibly looked slighty trendy. Anyway I was so mortified I didn't wear the jacket again and gave it to the charity shop recently.

This morning (although it was my OH), but apart from that I guess last Saturday evening was the last time and it makes me feel GREAT! I've never been embarassed by a wolf whistle or comment - I think it's just flattering (most men like to get a whistle too apparently). You're never too old although a lot of men are scared to whistle as there was a story a few years ago about a man being taken to court for sexual harrassment for whistling at a young lady, no idea if it was true but ridiculous if it was.
