Hi everyone. I've provisionally booked Viva Mexico (which I'm told is the best Mexican in Edinburgh) at 41 Cockburn Street in the Old Town for 7.30 on Friday 25 July for 10 to 12 people. They can provide us wth a, wait for it, square round table. It's booked provisionally because they need a deposit of £5 per head and I'm reluctant to pay this then find that some people don't turn up. There are a couple of possible new members this month. I need to know final numbers by 22nd at the latest. I'll send out PMs tonight too when I've finished work.
p.s. everyone will be required to run up the steps from Market Street to Cockburn Street to compensate for the calories in Mexican food!

Hi Everyone
Pretty certain that I've PM'd all 'the usual suspects' tonight but if I've missed anyone out sorry. It's not intentional.
Anyone else who wants to join us please let me know and I'll add you to the list. Don't be shy about coming, one of us will meet you outside if you're worried about coming in alone first time.

Hi Elizabeth I've been trying to call you to no avail. I've now sent you a private message. Excuse me if I'm trying to teach my grannie to suck eggs but you can pick up PMs by logging on then going to User Options. If there's a wee flag it means you have one.
I'll be out tomorrow and Wed evening but if you leave a message with a phone number I'll get back to you. Best Regards Pat aka Poppy

Look forward to seeing everyone at Viva Mexico. Please don't forget to confirm. We're currently standing at 7 (it's holidays!).

Unfortunately, I will be unable to come along now!
Got problems with Daughter who is in hospital until baby is born now (Sept 12). So boys are a bit mixed and tearful with being passed from pillar to post at moment and not knowing when they will see mummy and daddy next. We are having them Thursday am to Saturday pm.
Keep me informed when the next one is on.
Have a great night and hope to see you all soon.

Really sorry to hear your daughter's not well. That's a strain on you all, especially with so many weeks to go.
At least the September supper club should be within your reach! But hopefully before that. It's good they've got you to rely on...
Looking forward to seeing the other 6 of us on Friday.

Helen
Sorry to hear your daughter is having to spend the rest of her pregnancy in hospital - how stressful for you all. Let me know if you're in need of some light relief.
Sorry, too, we won't see you this time.

Hi Helen
Like the rest of the girls: I am very sorry to hear that you and the family are going through such a rough time but September is within sight now, though I am sure that will seem like a life time away for you guys. If there is anything we can do just shout..............

Hi The Edinburgh Supper Club meets every month. There are about 10/12 of us and we basically just choose a restaurant(sp?) and meet for an evening meal. It's very informal, we each take turns to choose and arrange a place to eat. We are actually meeting tomorrow evening at Viva Mexico in Cockburn Street at 7.30. Bit late I know but if you fancy going sent me a private message. To do that login and go to user options and choose send a message. I'm usually on my computer all day (working I have to say) so will be able to pick it up and respond. Otherwise I'll let you know about the next one. WHatever you'll be made very welcome. Hope this isn't garbled. Tired. Regards Poppyc

Hi Everyone,
Just to say thanks for a very enjoyable evening - it was good fun. The chocolate/chilli chicken was delicious!
Look forward to meeting you all again.
PS - I've started looking for restaurants with round tables!

Hi Jan
Glad you enjoyed the evening, it was lovely to meet you, I hope to get a chance to get a better chat on our next get together. The next ESC is planned for the 29th August (hopfully that will suit ) . The hunt for the round/square table is never ending, it is a bit like looking for the holy grail!!
Hope you go the train ok.

Thanks all for your kind words and thoughts.
On top of it all, took OH to railway station at 07:30 yesterday (Monday) to go to London for 2 days, then onto nursery to drop the boys off for 1st full day, then came home to shower and go to work after having a week off on carers leave.
Showered, hair dry, and was going to get dressed and stubbed my toe on the bed leg (wrought iron type frame), done it hundreds of times, thought no more about it, but 1.45 hours later still could not put ball of foot on floor. I ended up having a neighbour take me to A&E. I had not broken it but dislocated my little toe, so had to have gas and air whilst the doctor tried to put it back, then another x-ray, still not sorted so more gas and air and try again, this time doctor said she felt it go back, it was so excruciating. Advice RIPE (rest, ice, painkillers and elevate) for 48 hours!!
That all on top of having my daughter in hospital with SPD, new baby will have to be weaned off morphine when it is born. Step daughter in Cardiology with heart problems, having a pacemaker fitted, her father, my ex (who was the other carer with the boys [one at a time for him] we took him in at 10pm a week past Saturday, he ended up in same ward as step daughter, so we are having boys nearly full time.
I now have been offered a new job "script writing" for Holby City and Casualty!!
If anyone is up for a light lunch or afternoon tea on Saturday afternoon would love to catch up, if not maybe see you in August/September.
