DAY 106, Sunlight....
      #148838 - 14/07/2008 09:02

Could make you slim!!

Good morning girls, are you getting enough??

Its lovely here this morning Ive been outside to fill up the bird nuts and the heat hit me, wow, that makes a change!

The action of sunlight on your skin produces vitamin D - and without this you absorb only 10% of the calcium you take in (with it, this increases to 80-90%). That is bad for anyone who wants to lose weight, recent research has revealed that calcium turns fat storing cells into fat burning ones!, so aim to get outside for 30 minutes a day to boost your vitamin D levels, and it will also lift your mood.

Im off to have my cappuccino out side with the birds.

7 days to go until next weigh in, so make the most of it girls.

Wish it was sunny here mjm - it's grey and damping, yet again. But will try to get outside for a bit today. I managed an hour in the garden yesterday, but it was stil cold here.

I feel as though I need some sunshine - recent research showed that a few minutes exposure to the sun helps fight off all kinds of illnesses, and I love the feeling of it, warming you right through.

Grey and rainy here too. Was glorious yesterday, ate all our meals outside. Sunshine makes me want to eat healthily - cold & rain makes me want to eat comfort food and stodge. FGS - send in the sun!!!!!!!

Hi mjm, valaber, Christina and Anne and all the Flabuless Forumers!

MJM - interesting to read what you said about Vitamin D and Calcium - I didn't realise that. It's a lovely sunny day here in Southampton and I've mangaged to get out in it for a little while, so I've probably had my Vit D for the day!

Sella_Vee - I know you won't be logging until tomorrow, but just wanted to say hope your YS's graduation day is going well and that you're all having a wonderful time. It's such a special day - you must be very proud.

Hope you all have a good day xx

Shamefully, no didn't manage the swim, as I overslept - but did a 20 mins on the exercise bike to make up. It's unusual for me to oversleep, but I've been very tired for the last few days, and so has OH, and yesterday I was in a lot of pain, so we're wondering if there's some nasty bug doing the rounds.

Was at a meeting with a buffet lunch though and resisted the temptation to fill my mouth and stomach - half a sandwich and some fruit did me nicely. I topped up with a yoghurt when I got home.

Will try to do better tomorrow, with the swimming. My oldest friend (from schooldays) is coming to stay the night, so I shall be very busy burning off the calories with housework before she comes and talking once she's here!

Oh Val, I do hope you havent got anything nasty, I was going to give you a hug but I dont think I will bother now!!
I hope you have fun with your friend, and that your house was spick and span for her.

Well done with the buffet, thats my girl!

Yes Sella, hope all went well with the graduation, and I wonder how honey got on with her Ball, cant wait to find out, I bet they both looked fab!

I know what you mean anne, I suppose thats why they are called salad days, and I love eating out in the garden. Its still glorious here, high 20s today.
