Day 99
      #144938 - 07/07/2008 08:25

Good morning girls, hope all is well with you and that the weather is much better where you are than it is here.

Thought for today. Life is full of setbacks and successes. What we have to do is build on our sucesses and learn from them, and as for setbacks, well we must also learn from them but the most important lesson to learn is to deal with the setback and move on. Dont dwell on it, put it behind us and forge ahead to another success.

Its weigh in today and hopefully we will have a long list of successes to report, so good luck to everybody.

Thank you Honeybunny, this is a useful reminder. I know this last fortnight has not been brilliant for me - I haven't lost weight - but then I haven't gained it either, so it's not all bad.. Taking stock and getting back on track is a really useful thing to do.

When we're singing in the choir, our director always says, "If you make a mistake, don't pull a face and waste time worrying about it, just move on to the next note and get it right!" I'll try to apply that to my eating (and drinking - fewer G&Ts!!!)

Thanks honeybunny...talk about setbacks!!!!
I appear to have put on about 4lbs over the last 2 weeks!!!
But the truth is I know exactly why I have done this and I am even more determined to get backon track. I am going to treat this as day 1 again and start listening to PMK again in earnest...
The only way is up!!!

Valaber, the same for me this time - no loss but no gain (not bad considering I had quite a few days when I was hearing what my body was saying but not listening to it). I know what I did wrong so the next two weeks I'll be trying to avoid the same mistakes.

Good morning Honey, Val Christina and Sally, Its great advice, dont dwell on any set backs, just jump right back on board and move forward,

Life is never a straight road, so why should weight loss be!

I had a piece of chocolate cake at work last night, it was LUUURRRVLLYY, and do I feel guilty .......NO, I was hungry, enjoyed every single morsel, and I didnt have a second slice!

Good luck everyone.

Thank you for that honeybunny - as you said, life is full of setbacks and successes and we mustn't let the setbacks pull us down or detract from the successes.

I haven't lost any weight at all over the last couple of weeks (I haven't put any on either), but I still feel as though I have made progress. Why? Because I feel as though I understand where I have gone wrong and I feel more in control of my eating habits than I ever have been. To me, this is progress and can be looked on as a 'success', which makes the setback of not having lost weight easier to accept.

I guess it could be said that I've reached a point where I am eating suitably for my current weight and am maintaining it! I don't want things to remain as they are - I very much want to lose weight - but I do feel that I have made progress in other ways. Now, I have to use what I have learnt about myself and food to 'chivvy up' the weight loss!

Good luck everyone over the next couple of weeks and well done to you all - for losing weight, for staying in control even if you haven't lost anything, for trying hard, for recognising where you've gone wrong - they're all achievements.

Afternoon all,
For all those who have lost, gained or stayed the same throughout the 90 days, well done for trying. Im pretty sure Ive lost, gained and stayed the same but I am ok with this as I feel the main thing is Ive given it a go and intend to keep trying as I know I can do this, as they say "onwards and upwards"!

Thanks, honeybunny for your post, and Hi everyone. I'm pleased to have lost 1lb, despite having entertained on Saturday night. The trouble with having friends round for a meal is you have to keep tasting things as you are cooking to check seasonings etc, and all these little spoonfuls add up. If I hadn't cooked I'd probably have lost another pound and that would have made one whole stone since we started, which sounds so good. On a positive note, one of my guests brought a big box of chocolates and when I'd made coffee, I opened the box and passed them round and didn't have any myself. I think our motto should be,
"Don't you just love being in control!"

I think I lost weight because I was jiggling around so much at the Paul Simon concert. I felt as though I had diamonds on the soles of my shoes, and I went home still crazy after all these years! He played a good selection of his back catalogue mixed in with quite a few of his newer songs, and his band were good. He had changed, slightly, the arrangements of some of his songs, which artists often do to save them having to sing the same old, same old, but it was funny the way the audience still sang the old arrangements.

Onwards and upwards (or should that be downwards?).
