Your All-time Favourite Threads on the Forum?
      #144229 - 05/07/2008 21:44

I was reading throught the Forum tonight and
smiling at some of the posts and I started
thinking back to my favourite threads on this Forum
and there have been many.

My all-time favourite has to be when SteveyP revealed all about her secret piercing.

It still makes me laugh

http://www.womanandhome.com/forums/showf...=true#Post37628

Wonder what happened to all the forumers who were members here
and replied to the thread and enjoyed it so much -
Wildflowerchild, Sealover, Monkena, Cam54, Piano1,
Nazbabe, Kimbo, Zennor and Floozie to name but a few.

Hope that you are all still laughing and smiling

What have been your favourite threads and postings on
the Forum and why?

Nightingale x

I loved the 'in your pants' thread it just made me laugh so much! My other favourite was SusiQ's wedding. I love weddings full stop and I loved logging on and hearing all the wedding details and finally seeing the photos. (SusiQ was told off because her pictures were too big!).

I have finally been invited to a wedding this summer and I can't go as Mr F and I are away on holiday!!

Thanks Nightingale for telling us about the piercing thread! My eyes are watering too!!! it all happened before I joined but will read it in detail later. just wante to say......What has happened to all those forummers? I know Sealover did bid us goodbye and left but the others have just disappeared. What a pity!
Good to see you back occasionally anyway.
My favourite thread? Not sure really ....I enjoyed the thread about our new virtual mag! after Pippa tried an ageist request for the real mag.!! Can't remembere the title. It was very funny! There are some very witty girls on the forum.......I don't like it to get too serious although some issues are worth raising for discussion.
Sorry I am rambling. Have to get back to 'Foyles War' A really good series I think!

Hi Nightingale, I've just read SteveyP's post and all I can say is OUCH!!!

One of my favourite posts was the one by Bonnieblooming when she started the long running joke about "knitted orgasms!" That was so funny, except I can't knit so I was going to make mine out of jam, and someone else was going to crochet theirs. I also remember Chatelaine doing a lot of furious polishing of her imaginary zimmer frame! Also enjoyed the party thread when "Ploe" dancing and "nipples" were invented and Shrek ended up with Salderbs big knickas on his head. Classic.

Definitely the "in your pants" thread - that one had me and the two girls in hysterics and running in and out of the lounge, checking our DVD collection for suitable titles!!!

Also the one about Perry's name change, where we ended up with all sorts of nicknames for her and us - Pedal Bin, Cakehole, Germ, Heady, etc!

I've got both of them on my favourite toggle, so that I can read them whenever I need a good laugh.

In fact, last night when I had finished my exploding box, on checking my thread about 1001 uses for a banana, I was in stitches again - mainly due to Foxie's childrens party idea and Perry with her whingeing OH!!! (Another one for my favourite toggle!)

Of course there have been loads more, especially the spontaneous parties that crop up from time to time and spawn the creation of forum history - knitted orgasms, ploe dancing, nipples, Shrek, sparkly pink rabbits and of course my loft full of men instead of Tupperware!!!!

Thanks girls for all the laughs and memories.

Ha, ha...thanks for the memory of the SteveyP revelation, nightingale, made me laugh all over again.
My favourite posting is also 'In your pants' so silly, so funny.
I like the fact that we can be talking about one thing, and then everyone piles in with random asides and funnies, anything can happen.
And a good wedding is always a winner. Luckyonelol has gone a bit quiet, Still on honeymoon??

My favourite threads were my name change, "in your pants", when cuppy was in the English Channel (I think that was one of mjm's quizzes), the parties, actually all the threads that have me in stitches were I can let my hair down and have a real good laugh with my friends.

I did enjoy the one where we had to fill in the titles of films, I can't remember if it was Vicky or Lisa who posted it....it went on for pages. I really did want to be the last one to write something!!!

Keep 'em coming girls

There have been lots of goodies, and I remember being in stitches over hte "in your pants" threads
The resultant posts to Pippa's faux pas thread still makes me snigger.... OMG we really went to town on those!!!
And some of the funnies..... LOL!!!! One which I really got a kick out of was Aggie's "Why Spelling is important - or is it me??" (of 15/3/08) An example: Jesus was born because Mary had an immaculate contraption!
These statements about both Old and New Testaments were written by kids, and were NOT corrected or retouched..... Result: LLOLLL!!! The need for lotsa Tena Ladies

I've just read the piercings thread - it is hilarious! My favourites have been Perry's name change, the virtual magazine and the responses to mjm's quizzes - there was one a couple of days ago that had me in stitches. But there is always something on here that makes me laugh - I think that's why it's so addictive! So thank you all!

Hi Nightingale - logged on today just to see if you were back in harness and there you were!!

I used to enjoy the Friday evening funnies we did for a while; Susi Q's wedding threads were fabby; I have enjoyed so much on the forum and like you wonder about all the old chums - I think that some may have left when there was some unpleasantness earlier this year and haven't returned. Great to see the forum a happy place to be again - I check it now and again, read a few posts but don't contribute so much as I did.

I do enjoy the Book Club, have a lovely bunch of ladies in the Lunch Club and have certainly benefitted from this forum. In fact, I'm going to post a funny right now!

J xx

I used to like the Friday funnies as well. There was all the excitement of the wedding, SusiQ's and Monkena's. The monthly caption competition was always very funny and clever, and of course the monthly stories starring moosie. I still have my moosie (a present from Psyche) attached to a handbag.

Hi all,

That post where you had to fill in the movie titles was started by me Perry - and I remember wondering whether it would get many posts...

One of my favourites was where we got new nick-names and the many perty threads - they can be so hilarious! Shame we haven't had many like that lately but I think that it's the time of year

I found SusieQ wedding and Carrie's son's wedding threads interesting and very feel good moments- a god send to me when I was feeling 'down' about my personal life.

Another thread from long ago was about the magnet in your knickers to help with the menopause- talk of it being stuck to the supermarket trolley and such.

The peircing thread was also highly amusing, plus the jokes etc posted bring a smile to my face. I also like the thread when someone starts a story- unfortunatley I am not as imaginative as some of you out there but I love reading them.
