Boy's toys
      #144144 - 05/07/2008 17:44

Does your OH have any 'boy's toys' he really likes?

Mr F has just come back from Homebase with an attachment for his power hose. It runs on electricity and is basically a water powered circular brush about one foot across. It goes round and round and water comes out and it takes all the weeds out between the paviers on the drive.

He is out there as I type, happy as Larry spattered with muddy, weedy water!

Do airfix kits count?

My OH has a model of a 1930's Bentley car that he has been working on for at least five years! It lives in a box under the bed and comes out with great ceremony about once a year to be tinkered with. It really annoys me because I have to keep pulling the box out to hoover it; you can imagine the dust it attracts. But that will be nothing compared to the day when the finished article has to be 'homed' in a display cabinet and the dust will be on display too!

Hi miclor

I suppose I am quite lucky as all Mr F's toys live in the garage! I do not dust the garage that is Mr F's responsibility!

He is still out there and I have just put the immersion heater on!

My OH had a radiator put in our garage when we renovated the house! His toys are rather large and expensive. However, his favourite "toy shop" at the moment is B&Q but he does rather like Hamleys too!

Oh, Susieblue, Don't let my OH know you have a radiator in your garage. Mine has to make do with a fan heater!

Mr F has hot and cold water, a sink and a land line telephone in his garage! The walls are painted white and our old kitchen cabinets are on the wall for storage. The work surface has vices etc in place and he always finds something to do out there.

OH 's toys are tools of any kind - best present I ever gave him was a rechargeable drill. He is very fond of his chain saw and his two tractors - and anything that can be attached to them! The thing he longs for is a new quad bike - or at least a new second-hand one.

Cuppy
I like the way you just slip that comment in. You are just the ultimate boy's toy!

The list is endless, when I first met Mr Wright - Surfing, then wind surfing, big kites, now model boats - yachts and speed boats that go like the clappers.

He has a shed, which I ask permission to enter, just for a laugh, you go along a gang plank abit like boarding a ship. Luckily the sun heats it up, so no heating required.
