I'm here Blossom, have eaten my supper and am now enjoying a glass of wine...
The only time Ive been to Liverpool was for New Year's Eve 1969 and the start of 1970. I went with friends from university to a party in Liverpool 8. We couldn't understand the bus conductor, nor he us - some kind lady translated for us. the house was a four storey building - standing on its own in the middle of what looked like a demolition site! There was thick smog swirling around, and it was like something out of a horror film - we were very glad when the person who opened the door turned out to be our friend, not a Vampire!

that happens to me on an almost daily basis. I once bought some flooring for the kitchen, chose it, had the man cut it to size, fold it and put it in my car. I didn't understand one word of what he said. I just pointed and nodded a lot. I also tried to hire a car over the phone, the woman hung up on me. lol
Blossom are in Liverpool or from Liverpool and do you know the convent in Everton Valley?

Gigi, did you have a long veil, and nurse a secet passion for the Parish Priest (Or in the case of the nuns at my school, the Pope ...they obviously thought they were rather superior!)I can still make my d. fall about laughing when I do my imitation of Sr. Aloysius (sp?) getting very very excited "Blessed God, 'tis da Hally Fader, da Hally Fader on da TV!!!"

Well Blossom, funny you should say that, we had the most handsome priest I have met to date, Fr W. We also had Sr Cecelia well into her nineties and rolled to cover teaching absences, totally deaf and the girls played up by being noisy in her classes. Every now and then she would look up from her book, smile and say "what lovely girls you are for me", the guilt on those girls faces was something to behold.
