On the hospital courtesy bus today and overheard conversation
Chav A "I did it, boob job date set 15th Sept, just in time for christmas"
Chav B "Thats great how did you get them ( I am presuming NHS) to pay for it?)
Chav A "Well it took two years before the f***ing psychologist believed it was making me depressed, having flat t*ts"
Chav B "Ave ya told ya mum?"
Chav a "Yeah but all she could say was 'ave ya got rid of emmas nits yet?' Then she said; Thats not my job, the whol f***ing school as em, she'll only get 'em again, you shouldn't 'ave to pay for the nit lotion!!!
I am just gald I wasnt a little old lady in pain waiting for a hip operation, or someone denied life saving drugs because of the cost.

No I'm not I'm livid. People die because the NHS cannot afford drugs. Apart from those who have had mastectomy or who have serious health problems should be able to get any kind of boob job. The NHS should be for the sick.

What goes on in these girls minds? How much did it cost for the two years of bogus therapy to get to this point? Incredible.

What can I say?
Not quite at the same level, but at the college I work at we had a student joining a basic English class and she was outraged that she was asked to bring a pen or pencil to class. This was despite the fact she had three mobile phones in her bag.
My sister works as a CSA in a FE college, but we won't even go there!

Weeeeel.....if all these MPs can have their posh second homes re-furbished and furnished at our expense !!!!! what do you expect. We live in a 'dependency culture' and our MPs are our exemplars! (I am being provocative but only slightly so....I am as horrified as the rest of you really) Mayday

I had a friend ( note past tense) who asked me to go to the hospital with her here to help with translation for an operation. I translated the fact that she had no libido, was depressed because of the overhang she had due to four children (her choice!) and needed some help. The help she wanted was not counselling, physio or anything like that -it was......
A TUMMY TUCK!!
AND she got it. I don't know if she had the operation or not as I distanced myself from her for that and other reasons but the fact was she decided that was what she wanted so decided to make sure she got it whichever way possible.

I had a cleaner, who had 6 children, all getting free school meals etc, etc, etc, her husband who was a fully trained chef had not worked for 7 years, had done 2 re training courses, in plastering and brickwork, still had not worked. She went to see a ENT consultant because her nose got blocked at night, he said she needed an op for polyps, and suggested he could make the end of her nose prettier while he was at it (it looked absolutley fine to me) so of course she she did!!

I am just cold with anger. It's bad enough that the girl couldn't see the utter immorality of what she was doing, but what on earth was wrong with her GP, the psychiatrist and the system that she can get away with it?

I guess it takes all sorts to make this world but my blood is boiling also Patsy like yours after reading these tails, they are true I assume folks, if so they (those using the NHS like this here and being discussed) are so sad. Such a crying shame and that the likes of these folks are wasting of OUR money in my mind!

Not me !

I am back and I am Blossomed and the more I think about what I heared today the angrier I am getting.I have decided I am going to write to the hospital , with a copy to the chair of the PCT. I am going to describe the woman concerned, the approximate time of her appointment and he exact conversation I overheard.I want a reply to my letter
Can any of you lovely ladies who work in the NHS help me out in what to put in the letter?I am incensed about it.
The stupid woman even had the nerve to complain about having to pay for nit lotion for her kid!!
