Room 101
      #143350 - 04/07/2008 09:10

I know, I know I always get into trouble for grumpy posts but here's what I would put into room 101, what 3 things would you put in?

Baby on Board signs in cars - Half the time when you see these the kids aren't strapped in properly so maybe they should have them facing inwards not out? Also, what do they think it means? "I drive like an idiot all the time unless I see this sign and then I'm a good driver"! And the old chestnut about letting the emergency services know that there is a child on board? well, half of the time there is no child on board and even if there was I think the child seat would be a giveaway.

Adverts for Lawyers and dodgy loans etc. - why are they always on the children's channels? I hate them, we don't watch much TV but if she ever gets to watch a childrens channel that shows adverts her first sentence might be "have you had an accident blah blah blah"

Hmmm I can think of a lot of little niggley ones for my third one, but I think I'll hold off and post my third one later when I've had a think.

Come on ladies (and girls) give me some more ideas......

Can't think of 3 but would definitely put croc's in. I have no problem with them being used as they were meant as gardening/boating shoes but I hate it when people wear them into town. And 9 times out of 10 the colour of the croc in no way matches the clothing of the wearer.

Kiwi

Yellow cars are one of my latest bugbears ... when I'm prime minister they will be banned...

TV adverts for 'ladies things' - we need them, we know where they are ... it isn't necessary to have a daft advert for them, particularly when I am in mixed company!

Taxi drivers who work out of my local train station - they act as though they are the only ones who need to use the drop off and pick up roads and clearly leave their manners at home...grrr

Oh I like a good grumble TracieB, sooooo

1.The people behind you in supermarket/shop queues who insist on shuffling up till they touch you even if you move away they shuffle again,'It's my bit of space'!!!

2.Twits who drive round in cars going,Booom Booom Booom, apart from not wanting to feel the earth move (well not in that way) I like to choose what I listen to.

3. Whoever they all are who drop chewing gum on the pavements, if you ever spend the time just looking down
our Towns and cities are paved in Chewing gum!!!

I could actually carry on but I'll stick to the rules.

Ok, I just put one on the new tecnologies post, so I'll have 4 by default, Ahem,

The ticket dispensers at our local metro stations, they only take coins and there are no change machines nearby but lots of inspectors on the trains and stations.

Adult cyclists who ride on pavements at the speed of light.

Men who think body odour is an asset to their masculinity.

Parking machines which don't give change - charge minimum £1.80 so almost always you put in £2. Moral of tale - always keep loads of 5p. handy I guess.

Marks and Spencer fruit and veg! Why oh why are they selling asparagus from Peru and strawberries from USA at the moment? No wonder their director of food got the big "E"

Crazy over-packaging of toothbrushes and razors - guaranteed to chip or break your nails...

Agree so wholeheartedly with all these others above.

YES, YES to all of those!
How am I expected to find £1.90 for the car park every morning? But I refuse to give in and put in £2.
And the old dears in Tesco who dont realise they need to get out their purses and PAY until the very last moment!
And family members who pile things up until they all cascade down on my head or smash on the floor!
And thats just this mornings grumbles!

Right

All of the above PLUS

1. Supermarkets that charge you for the pleasure of shopping in there by charging for the car park.

2. Pop up on computers-if I want one of whatever thy ae slling I'll research for it

3. Rain - when the children are off! (Holidays started here today)

I might do another post so I can three more in!!

1. When answering the phone at work having to go through the "hello how are you? Yes I'm fine thanks, how are you?" routine. They are not interested in me and I am not interested in them, so let's just cut to the reason for the call!

2. Waiting in for utility companies, etc to turn up because they never offer a precise appointment time, eg could be anytime between 8am-1pm or 12midday- 8pm, so you end up having to lose the whole day.

3. When the weather forecast says rain and so you plan to stay in or go somewhere that's indoors rather than do something that needs good weather, then it's a lovely day after all.

Hee hee ... don't get me started!

1. Middle lane hoggers on the motorway, causing a mobile chicane.

2. Men who insist on sitting on a packed commuter train with their legs wide apart (presumably airing their bits?) & encroaching on the seat next to them.

3. Elderly people zooming too fast along the pavement on a mobility scooter out of control.

Right

All of the above PLUS

1. People who arrive when you are in a hurry and insist on staying longer than they should JUST to tell you one more thing quickly.

2. People who don't even attempt to walk under tha shower in the swimming pool when it's clearly marked.

3. People who are all over each other in your ace so to speak. Particularly people who have been together ages. WHY? We know and don't need to watch-I don't mean just hand holding etc I am all for that

I must be particularly grumpy today!!

Oh yes and people who tell me I can't have two posts, Gigi!!
It's not cheating it's initiative....

hi there, first time so hope I do this right!
straight into room 101 has to be daily question from early retired hubby "so whats the plan for today then?"

people with all the time in the world in shopping centre while you try to get past them for a 15minute dash to buy forgotten card & pressie!

perfectly groomed ladies who lunch, while I still haven't got to grips with those hair straighteners

definetly heading into grumpy old woman territory

Oh no - I'll have to join your husband then, Kim2. Its exactly what I ask mine every Saturday...

And if people are using their initiative to get another lot of stuff through room 101 I'd also include

People who can't use roundabouts properly
People who drive and use their hand-held mobile
People who pick their noses while sitting at traffic lights - yeuk!!!

O.K. don't care about the rules,I'm having another go too!! I'm allowed I'm an EXTRA GRUMPY OLD WOMAN!!!

1. Great big nasty 4x4's with blackened windows, normal cars can't see past them at junctions, have to wait till they're gone, and can't see past them in car parks, and take life into own hands pulling out!!

2. People who park over the white line in car parks not leaving room for anyone else.

and........

3. people who wait till they are at the barrier in the car park to sort out every last little penny to put in the slot!!

Gosh I am enjoying this
I'll try not to post again promise
