Cancer diagnosis
      #129771 - 11/06/2008 17:03

Dear All - have just come back from the doctor who tells me that I have two mobile lumps in my breast and I am to be fastracked to the cancer services.

My world seems to have fallen apart........

I can't stop crying and would welcome any messages from people who have been thru this so I know what to suspect and also to give me some hope .........

Please help me.

oh Pinklady I am so sorry to hear your news. I do hope they see you soon and get it sorted. It's good that they have flagged it and are doing something about it.

Thinking of you and wishing you lots of luck

Pinklady

I'm so sorry to hear your news. Have they said that they are suspicious? I know they have fast tracked you through to the clinic, but what did they actually say to you?

I always thought the lumps that seemed 'fixed' were the more suspicious ones??

In any case- try not to jump the gun, so-to-speak, although I can well imagine hor hard that must be. Do your best- talk to your family and close friends for support, and, of course, come on here.

Keep us posted. We will keep absolutely everything crossed for you.

Huge hugs for you xxxxxx

Pinklady

So sorry to hear this. In Norfolk they fast-track anyone with a lump that is suspect. It doesn't mean that it is cancerous, only that the GP cannot readily explain it and the breast care clinic is the best place to take it further. There is a standard procudure to see patients within two weeks and they often ring with an appointment, rather than write to you.
It has happended to me and it is very frightening but you are being referred to the best place in the fastest time.
I was lucky as the lump was benign and I hope the same for you.
x

Hi Pinklady

I understand how you are feeling but try to stay calm. I had a similar experience and was fast tracked I was fortunate all was OK I hope you are too. It does play hell with the emotions though.
The good thing is you are getting it looked at quickly and thats the important thing.
Will be thinking of you.

Hi Pinklady

I can well imagine how you must be feeling at the moment.

Meha is absolutely right in saying that just because your GP has fast-tracked you to the breast clinic doesn't necessarily mean that your lumps are malignant. What it does mean though is that they will be investigated really quickly by experts in this field, which can only be a good thing.

I know there's no point in me saying try not to worry, so I'll keep my fingers crossed that your appointment comes through sooner rather than later so that at least you'll know for sure what you're dealing with.

Lots of positive thoughts are flying through cyber space from me to you.

Hello Pinklady and so sorry to read your news. I can imagine you must be feeling devastated.
Although I have not experienced anything like this myself I have several friends who have been there and come through treatment successfully.
I know it is easy for me to say but try not to worry and as others have said we are all thinking of you. xx
