Between Elmis pro collagine marine cream and oxegenating night cream and Ponds Regener-active Marine collagin day and night cream? Apart from the price tag of course! I was just wondering if the Pond sone would have a similar effect on my skin for a fraction of the price! Hope someone can advise me as Ponds and Elemis are keepong schtum!!! Tanya

Hi Tanya67. Don't know whether you saw the programme on TV last night about face creams but in a nutshell we are wasting our money on all these expensive creams because when tested they didn't contain what they claimed to and there is concern that most of them should be classed as 'medicines' these days and properly regulated as we are putting stuff on our skin that alters the cells etc...
I have just ordered a load of Liz Earle stuff. She has a fab website and is on QVC. All her products get rave reviews in all the mags and have won loads of awards and are all made from plant extracts and are all natural.

Thanks I have tried her stuff but it doesnt suit my skin It would be interesting to know if both creams do the same thing though as I could save myself a fortune!! Tanya

See the thread on the Dispatches programme, or have a look at the C4 website.

Haven't tried the Ponds but have tried the Elemis and I would imagine the only difference (especially in view of the programme last night) is the price! Even though I'd heard great things about the Elemis one I could see no difference whatsoever in my skin.

Hi I did see the programme, and i have to say i agree with it. I have just got a sunblock and will be using that. My friend has sent me the new olay 3 point cream I am told it sells well in the U.S. I will give it a try and see what happens, but if i see no difference then i will not be wasting my money.
I have tried many lotions and creams and see no difference in using expensive ones to the cheaper ones.
Think i will set up a forum for all tried and tested and for ladies over forty, it is very interesting listening to others and what they have used.

I had an elemis rejuvinating peel and facial and lovely at the time but did not notice any difference afterwards. They tried to sell me a course of 6 but not for me. I have got Liz Earle products, have been using cleanses and polish and the skin tonic but hate the moisturiser.............A friend told me about the new clarins cleasing melt gel, its fab, move over Liz Earle. have tried every moisturiser including sisley(very expensive) but absolutely love Virgin Vie Vitamin C skin fix. We're obviously all very different girls.......

Hi Tanya
It would be good if i can get a forum with a chat so when we have time we can have a good chat about everything, It is so good to hear what us girls are using, what i call the real people, and not the ones in the magazine's as i believe most of those photos of models are airbrushed, etc. If only i could get airbrushed every morning.
Maybe we can set up the group together, but i do love this forum.

Chipmunk mentions Sisley. Everyone to their own, but I must stick up for this brand which, for me, is the best. It is very expensive, but I do love their products - particularly SisleyA, their top of range moisturiser for mature skins, and their excellent Express Flower Gel mask - and I do believe that my skin has benefited from them. Though of course I accept this may not be a wholly rational belief, because it's very difficult to 'prove' that it's any one product you put on your skin which is making the difference. So many other factors come in.
Alas, now I'm not in paid work but a student I can't really afford Sisley so at present am using a mix of Liz Earle, Clarins, and Boots (Protect and Perfect serum, Uplifting day cream) and the results do seem satisfactory. But I still miss the texture, smell, and ease of absorption of SisleyA. (I also use Imedeen, or the cheaper Boots equivalent, and drink lots of water).
