Hi girls, I wasnt sure where to put this thread, it would have fitted in the "Your Looks" forum and the "Your Lives" bit to.
So anyway, Ive got a dilemma, and I know all you Flabuless girls will be going thro the same as me, so Im sure I will get the right advice.
When I was in town yesterday, I looked around the clothes department and I really liked some of the things they had, and in a couple of weeks they will be gone!!
What do I do?
1. Buy what fits me know,
2. Buy a size smaller in the hope It will fit in a few weeks or so,
3. Or dont buy at all, and miss out on the lovely clothes, but saved my money??
Have any of you had this dilemma recently??, what did you do?

Hi MJM -When i lost alot of weight last year i bought things that fitted me at each stage but very cheaply - Matalan, Primark etc, so it wasn't so bad when i could disgard them for newer items - i wish i could get into them now!

mjm,
It depends really on what you want to buy and why, as one of Jae's incredible shrinking ladies I have had the same dilemma. My wardrobe is full of clothes that I will fit in to some day and thanks to Jae at long last for some of them I now am, but to be honest they don't appeal half as much as going out and buying something new. So I would be wary of buying something that you will slim into, if I were you. The styles in the shops change so much nowadays that in a few weeks time there will a whole new range of clothes for you to select from that you will forget the ones you are keen on today.
On the other hand if you have something specific in mind that is not too far in the future and have seen something you like then go for it. I am spending the week out here in Riga with my OH, and as his boss his coming out this weekend I knew that the now slightly saggy jeans I have been wearing recently won't really cut it, so I treated myself to a couple of pairs of new smart jeans and tops that fit now knowing that I will feel good in them this weekend and that I will get wear out of them in the future as they are a size smaller than I have been wearing, which in itself is a great confidence booster.
All the best
Fiona

I say buy now, why can't you look and feel good now? You have plenty of lovely clothes to wear when you are a size smaller. You have been saying to love your body, so why not love the clothes you are putting on.
Go for it, when you come down here I can borrow.

Thats sound advice Loo..., sorry Skippy, and Fiona,
Its just the same things that come out each year, you know the crop jeans, pretty skirts and tops that I liked , I didnt even try them on, because I just know that Im not quite "there" yet,
I think I am really looking forward to going shopping and getting into smaller clothes, but if I wait, the Autumn collections will be in, and I will have missed out.
Congratulations by the way Fiona, I bet you are on cloud nine arent you, enjoy your weekend, you skinny minx!

Yes your right sis, but I just know I will look soo much better when I have lost those extra pounds.
I will go back and try them on, and then make up my mind.

Always buy clothes that fit you. I've wasted so much money buying things to slim into. I did once have a fabulous dress that I'd bought for a special occasion and I looked lovely in it. Some time later when I went to wear it for another "Do" I'd lost about two stones, so I got out my sewing machine and I took it in. The following year I let it out again.
Also, if you wear things that are a wee bit loose, people will compliment you and say those magic words "You've lost weight." And if all else fails there's always the boil wash for shrinking things!
Seriously, mjm, we want to start looking good NOW.

Just to say that life is too short, don't put clothes 'on hold' until you reach your 'perfect weight'. Buy some clothes which you love and make you feel fab.

Hi mjm,
I've got a wardrobe ranging from size 10-18!
Some I've never worn as I put on weight before I could wear them!
But as I lose weight I'll be able to wear some clothes from a few years ago that are still good.
Mjm I'd say buy clothes that are your size now but not too many.

Hi Gem Just being nosey, but where do you keep all your clothes? You must have wardrobes full.
Good luck with your diet I am sure you will be sliding down your dress scale tout de suite!

Buy now mjm and keep in mind styles that are easy to adjust at the waist/hips/under arms for when you re-size your body.
