Aloe vera gel
      #111308 - 06/05/2008 22:39

I have heard that Aloe vera gel is very good for treating and calming skin conditions but that products can be very variable in quality and even the quantity of pure aloe vera they actually contain. Does anyone have any experience of this and could you recommend a good quality gel?

Hi bonnieblooming; Why don't you get yourself an Aloe Vera plant, they grow rapidly and accept their leaves being broken off for their natural juice.I was sceptical at first but they really do work, plus they are self reproducing,my first Aloe Vera has masses of "babies" waiting to be potted on,and I havelost count of the ones potted on and given away to friends and fetes etc.

When my dad had a fall and had a very cut, scrazed and bruised face we used the 'forever living' gel and we were amazed by how quickly it healed his skin. I can highly recommend it. I'm generally a bit sceptical about the claims these companies make, but have to say this was good.
