I saw a lovely summer blouse today - red and white check, great fit and nice material. It had a little red sash that gave me a waist and I was very tempted BUT it had puff sleeves. As a lady in her 6th decade (52)I just don't feel I can wear puff sleeves. Otherwise the blouse was quite plain - no frills etc. What do you think? Too young? Or to h*** with it? And yes I have been doing a lot of clothes shopping this week! It bread and water until payday! BB

Depends how puffy the sleeves are but if that is all the fussy bit there is on the blouse, I would say, definitely go for it. Do you have things to wear it with? There are lots of T shirts around with ruched puffy type sleeves and I would definitely say they are not too young. I'm 53 and would say I am in my 50s - 6th decade sounds awful!

I know what you mean about puff sleeves but if your arms look good why not and 52 is not to old to wear puff sleeves go for it. When the sun is shining you will be glad you did. Daisy

Puff sleeves - why not? If you have a broard back they can make you look broarder, but then maybe your waist will look slimmer. Just go for it!

I am definately in my 6th decade and I wouldn't worry about being too old. I gave that up years ago. Now I wear what I think is nice. Maybe other people think that some items are too young for me. I wear what I am comfortable in. Go for it. Pat

bonnieblooming - I bought the June edition of Easy Living magazine today to read on the train. There is an article in there saying that puff sleeves are this years summer trend.
I say go for it xxx

If the puff sleeves cut into your arms as they would me, then that's a no no, but if they are loose I would say great, buy it!

If the blouse looked good on you bb I'd go for it. I can't wear puff sleeves because I have wide shoulders and they make me look like a linebacker, but if I suited them I'd wear them. I'm sure you looked fabulous - the blouse sounds lovely.

Lots of the women on ITV's 'Loose Women' seem to be wearing puff sleeves lately. I think it looks a bit 'young girly', but if you like what you see in the mirror then that's all that matters!

Thanks girls! I have had this thing about puff sleeves for a few summers - always afraid someone would say "will you look at yon one thinking she is young" but you have convinced me - if the blouse is still there its mine! BB
