The June choice, picked by Jayra, is 'If Nobody Speaks of Remarkable Things' by John McGregor. Opinions on this should be posted on or after 1st June, please.
Can I just add a couple of things to this? Firstly, we have lost Scout and Cam54 from the Eyes Down Club and are therefore looking for volunteers to choose the books for September and November. To be fair, I think that first refusal should go to those who have not chosen a book before and to those who have contributed to the Club previously by giving their views on one of the Eyes Down choices. Perhaps you could PM me if you would like to be a 'choser'.
Lastly, can I just make a plea that, if you haven't already done so, you sponsor the ForumGirls who are doing the Ribbon Walk in Blenheim. They have nearly reached their target and if everyone gave even the minimum of £2.00 it would really be great. Thanks.

Hi Sealover and Book Clubbers - I'm quite concerned about my June choice. It's an unusual book and I think you'll either love it or it will drive you mad. Won't tell you how I felt until 1st June! Probably shouldn't be saying this but have worried ever since I nominated it!! I'm an avid reader and would like to recommend a couple of books I've recently read...Certainty by Madeleine Thien and The History of Love by Nicole Krauss.
Happy Reading

Hi Jayra,I know exactley how you feel Re:your choice for the eyes down selection. It must feel quite a resposibility to have all eyes on your book.HOWEVER,I'm sure you do have no need to worry, for myself I am really looking forward to reading it.As yet I haven't started it but it is next and looks very good and at least it seems my type of book.Shall "see" you at the beginning of June if not before.

Jayra, don't worry at all. We all feel a bit apprehensive when picking a book, but even in the very unlikely event that no-one likes it, it isn't the end of the world, no-one will get hurt or killed by it - it's only a book! And even if I read a book and don't like it, at least I've learned no to buy another book by that author!
But I, for one, am looking forward to reading it, so that's two of us already!
Nannyconnie, would you like to pick a book for later in the year? You've participated quite a bit and if you would like to chose one, it would be good. But if you prefer not to, that's fine, too.

Hi Jayra.. I'm echoing again, others words. I know the apprehension, as I've chosen August, and already changed it once. However just a taster I've started the book, and so far so good..Hope that helps, and hasn't breached the review rule.

Thanks folks! I'm normally a confident lady but suddenly the responsibility of choosing made me get cold feet. Oh well...happy reading all! (or not as the case may be!)

You simply read the suggested book for the month and add your comments after the first of the next month. It's May so we're reading the June choice!! Comments on book posted from first of June. For the list of books, see Sealover's very helpful posts on Book Club part of forum.
Happy Reading - J x
