Pinch and a punch for the first of the month - last call for sponsors
      #108735 - 01/05/2008 09:20

Ok, most of you will just groan and say "not them again" but this time I would like to start by thanking all the forumers who have so far sponsored the Forum Team taking part in the 10-mile Breast Cancer Ribbon Walk at the end of this month at Blenheim Palace. You have been so generous - thank you on behalf of all eight Forum Girls!

For those of you who have forgotten to sponsor us (because it would be really, really sad if you had actively decided NOT to give money to such a good cause that is so big a concern with all women), the link is http://www.justgiving.com/forumgirls

Minimum donation is just £2.00 and you can use both credit and debit/switch cards. Dbvc expressed doubts that others of you may have about the safety of using her card over the net in this way - to her and all others who are wary, this is a secure site and has had no problems reported. Good point Debbie, but no worries in that direction as it's all totally watertight, so you can sponsor us today with no fear!

Looking forward to seeing all of the names of regular posters in this period up there on http://www.justgiving.com/forumgirls
A big hug and thanks again to those who have already sponsored us.

From all the Forum Girls. x

So long and thanks for all the fish

And I will add my plea's and thank you's to SusiQ's.

Thank you to all who have sponsored the Forum Girls so far..you know who you are.

To all those who haven't got around to it yet, (and I know how easy it is to leave things to later) time is running out. So please try to look at our page today and donate. Only takes a few minutes. Every £2 makes a difference and is very much appreciated.

xx

Good point Susi about security of using credit/debit cards on the giving site but I don't think this was my point SusiQ that I made to you to other day.
I did say however, now you mention me, that I will be donating to the Breast Cancer Care Walk but I personally prefer to donate privately and not on and via the giving site for a number of reasons and being that ones details are listed and so is the amount of the donation.

Best wishes to all you girls from me dbverycherry

Just to chip in, dbverycherry, the justgiving site is a great idea. My daughter used it last year when she ran the London marathon and it did mean that she didn't have to go round afterwards collecting money from sponsors, which is always a little bit embarrassing. It's no different from adding your name to a paper list - in fact it can be far more anonymous as you can use any name you like to be listed by - only the organisation has your real details.

I quite appreciate you are already donating to charity - just wanted to assure you the site is safe and anonymous.

Hi girls, just to let you know that I have donanted though only a small amount. I'm sponsoring my son's girlfriend as she lost her mum only a few months ago, and she is doing various things in memory of her mum. I do however want to contribute so hope you are not offended at my meagre offering. Good luck to you all and hoping you have decent weather.

I'll be donating the 1p per pound from the Incredible Shrinking ladies. So whatever the total is on monday 26th May it will be winging it's way to you. At the moment it is just under £20 but if we have a fantastic weight loss over the next 3 weeks we may be able to increase it a little. Hope you have a fantastic day and maybe once it's over we can start recruiting for next year! Maybe we could have our next Forumfest in May and all do the walk.

Thanks a lot both d.blonde and Jae for your contributions. It isn't the size of the amount that counts, it's the thought and the support, and we really appreciate it - we have not only exceeded our goal but are on our way to adding 50% to it right now!!!

I would just like to vouch for the fact that this method of donating is very safe, I have used it on a number of occasions for different causes and never encountered any problems.

Good luck to you all, have a great day
