Isle of Wight

Next week I am off to the Isle of Wight in a caravan on a Hoseasons site with two 16 yr old girls and two 14 year old boys - yes I am totally mad!

I know there are IOW people on here and some that have been there on hols, just wondered if anyone has any tips on good places to go in the evening or on a wet day.

We are going to Shanklin as I understand there is more stuff around there and Ive picked a busy site in the hope theres enough for 2 v different groups. Girs are interested in beach and other teenage girl stuff- boys deffo not interested in the beach at all.
All tips gratefully received and may be acted upon.

I'm taking a couple of books and not v sure if it will be a holiday for me, but if my 2 enjoy being with a mate on holiday then its worthwhile.

Re: Isle of Wight

There are definitely forummers from the IOW. All I know is it is where Liz Earle's Skin Care HQ is and no doubt a shop selling the stuff.
Also shops such as Fat Face and White Stuff which are just lovely to browse around I am sure there are lots of holiday things to do.

Re: Isle of Wight

Lots to do on the IOW. Boys and girls will enjoy the chair lift at Alum Bay. There are lots of amusements at the Alum Bay Park to keep them happy. I like the sweet factory. A bit silly, but fun. If they are in the mood for it, get them to walk from Alum Bay up over Tennyson Down to Freshwater Bay. Beautiful views. You can catch a bus back from Freshwater. Boys should love a visit to Carisbrooke Castle, girls may prefer a trip to the very beautiful Osborne House-Queen Victoria's holiday home. A bit silly for teenagers, but they might like Blackgang Chine fun park and Robin Hill. Maybe more suitable for younger children, but I am sure teenagers could get some fun out of both parks. Loads of beaches for them to enjoy too. Hope you all have a super holiday.

Brave lady.
On another count entirely ...... Have they been away together before/ No likelihood of homesickness?Do the non family members know your rules and are the other parent/s supportive of any discipline you may need to enforce?
Enjoy yourselves
