Many thanks,

Re: Berwickshire

Hi Chrissi
Amaryllis, West St. Berwick upon Tweed
The Maltings Cafe, Eastern Lane Berwick upon Tweed
both of these do meals on Fri and Sat evenings, good for coffee & lunch.
Queens Head Hotel, Sandgate Berwick upon Tweed lunch and dinner
Oblo at Harbour Rd Eyemouth - Bistro
Wheatsheaf Hotel at Swinton - dinner
Fisherman's Arms at Birgham between Coldstream and Kelso lunch and dinner
The Tree House at Alnwick Garden - 28 miles S of Berwick
just off A1 lunch, afternoon tea, dinner on fri and sat might do early evening meals on other days.
Hope thats of some help.
There's also Cafe Curio Bridge St. Berwick which I've heard good reports off but haven't tried.
Are you going to be in Northumberland/Borders on holiday?

Re: Berwickshire

Thanks Barney.
We've got a cottage in the Borders for a week and want to visit Berwick at some point while we're there on one of our quieter days - have lots of plans for walking and also want to make an early start one day and head right over towards Glencoe (at least a four hour drive).

Is Foxtons still open? Think that's the name of the place OH used to eat when he visited the area for work a few years ago.

Re: Berwickshire

Hi Chrissi
Foxtons is still there but under different management so not as good. Management at Foxtons are running the Maltings cafe now.
If you're going to be in Melrose The Townhouse serves good food - it's opposite Burts Hotel.
Enjoy the walking.

Re: Berwickshire

If your a fan of Lowry (the painter) Berwick on Tweed is perfect.
You can walk around the town from painting to painting and view the actual structure....
We stay in Bamburgh, just down the coast but we always
try to make it up there, its lovely.
