where to stay in Bootle?
|
any reccomendations for family accommodation in Bootle. Going to a family "thing" in Sept and need some`advice.
We would like somewhere nice but not too expensive, staying over a weekend with 12yr old, so would like to avoid niteclubby places.
Really would appreciate some local knowledge.

I haven't really got local knowledge but I drive through Bootle quite often. I googled "Bootle accommodation" and the Throstle's Nest Hotel came up. It's quite well reviewed on Tripadvisor and they do have family rooms. It has it's own website. I thought it was just a pub, but it seems to have been refurbished as a hotel. It's very handy for the football stadia, both Liverpool and Everton. Bootle isn't the smartest part of Liverpool, and this hotel, which used to be known as "One Flew Over The Throstles Nest" is on a main road quite near the tunnel entrance for Wallasey. It's on the Liverpool side of Bootle, on Scotland Road.
You might be able to find a B & B by googling. Alternatively you could stay in Liverpool itself as Bootle isn't that far out. Hope this helps.

Hi,
I'd definitely stay in Liverpool City Centre. There are some fabulous museums, art galleries etc and you can trip on the Mersey or go on an open top bus for a tour. Liverpool is a fabulous city especially the all new Liverpool One and the Albert Dock. Your 12 year old wll probably love the huge Primark store there (if it's a girl 12 yr old). It's all about a 10 minute bus or car from Bootle as well. Not much to do in actual Bootle though I'm afraid.

i would take Bizibees advice and stay in the city centre.It is not far from Bootle ( a cheap black cab ride) and there are load of really nice reasonable hotels.I would probably do as Sella Vee suggests and google Liverpool Hotels or b and b s
