Holiday on Ile de Rea

Hi there,

Just wondering if anyone can recommend self catering accommodation on Ile de Rea, have booked flights from Sept 2nd to 9th, unfortunately all accom seems to run from sat to sat! Just want somewhere nice, not too expensive, just chill out time, white wine, nice food, at last have 'got rid' of kids and its just 2 of us! Not toooooo romantic!!! C.

Do you mean the Ile de Ré, Carokee? I've always wanted to go there, been on the mainland traveling in a camping bus, the region is so beautiful and the smell of the sea heavenly.
Can't advise on places to stay but enjoy the food, its finger lickin' good!!! Lots of seafood and crepes yumyum.....

May be worth checking through Chambres d'Hote website or gites de France ... Been to the mainland in this region and it was lovely with good beaches on the coast. Enjoy.

I've been to the Ile de Re - tres expensive ma cherie. It's a beautiful place, very unspoiled and uncrowded. And the Atlantic breezes are just right to cool you off. Lots of 'yachtie' types about, and chic clothing to match, so pack your best holiday togs. Can't recommend a specific place to stay, they all look nice to me (and I have simple rustic tastes).
