Poole/Bournemouth First meeting a success !
|
|
We held our first meeting on May 12th at the Royal Bath Hotel Bournemouth.Four of us were there and the weather was glorious.Fortunately we had a table outside so that we could enjoy both the sun and the beautiful view over the sea and it was great to finally be able to put faces to the forum names. We decided that we will meet up again on Friday June 20 th and we will make it an evening event next time so that anyone working would be able to join us if they want to. We haven't decided on a venue yet but I thought it might be useful to give plenty of warning about the date.

First of all want to thank decorator for organising our first supper - it can be a thankless task sometimes and she was willing to pick up the reins. She's absolutely right - the weather was glorious - so many people on the beach I wanted to join them (maybe one time we could have a picnic on the beach...!). Am looking forward to our next meeting and hopefully some more people will join us so COME ON LADIES, and if you have any thoughts on venues don't hog them!

I can also reiterate the previous postings from one of the four who met on the 12th and had a thoroughly relaxing time with three very friendly ladies (apart from myself, of course!). Would be so nice to have others join us as I know we can make a very happy group and enjoy meeting and having a good time, which is what it's all about. No need to be shy, we all overcame it, so can others ! Hope to hear from you.

Sounds as if all had a great time at the first meeting, I would love to join the next one on June 20th, will keep my eyes open for the venue, how about a local pub, depends of course on where everyone is coming from...

Hi Sheila.Great to hear from you.I know you have tried in the past to get things going.We are a bit scattered across the area and a pub in West Parley has been suggested.Sorry can't think of the name just yet.Did you ever meet up with others in the past or did it not get off the ground then?
I feel that the time is right now because we do seem to have a fair few people interested and I'm sure our next meeting will have more people there but I think the number we had was probably about right for a first meeting

Hi everyone, sounds as though the first meeting went well (lucky ladies to have a lovely sunny afternoon). I've noted the 21st in my diary and look forward to meeting eveyone, wherever we decide to meet. Are we looking for somewhere to go for a bite to eat or just a drink and a chat? Sorry if this sounds bit dim and I've missed the obvious (given that we are a local Supper Club!) but I don't mind either way as I'm just interested in meeting new people.

I would also like to add my thanks to Decorator for arranging our first meeting in Bournemouth on 12 May. I felt it was a great success and I enormously enjoyed the company of the others present and I am sure we can go on to create a great group; so other ladies in the area do come and join us on 20 June as we would love to meet you and have a good time.

Hi Popcorn,You will be in the right group(not because you're dim!) but when we met up on our first meeting we all agreed that meeting others was much more important than food for us.
But we were thinking for our next meeting that we would perhaps look for something like a pub with food.June did suggest a pub in West Parley,Can't remember the name at present and If we have no other suggestions I would think that would be fine.We can always think of other places so that we have a list together when we meet again.
Also ,thanks ladies for the thank you's.I appreciate it.It was such a relief to me when we finally managed to meet up.I'm sure it will be much easier in the future now that we can plan together each time we meet up.
