I have only been buying Woman and Home for a few months after seeing an article on Trinny and Sussanah . Although a lot of the fashion etc is not available here (New Zealand) I still love the articles, advice, recipes etc. We are 2 months behind your issues (just finished reading February 2008), I look forward to my monthly fix. Just goes to show, where ever we are in the World, how similar we all are. |

My mother has a subscription for your magazine. Every time I visit her I really enjoy reading it. Years ago I remember it as an old fashioned read. Congratulations for bringing it up to date. A very well balanced magazine for all ages. |

I love the magazine and look forward to it popping through my door. The clothes generally are very expensive but give the reader ideas to adapt at a more affordable price. The magazine is a highlight in the month for me! |

Hi carolsatdormie Welcome to the forum and what a positive post! There have been some posts recently about the magazine having too many adverts and the clothes being too expensive, articles not relevant etc. I enjoy reading the magazine and my comment to those who moan is why do you buy W&H? there are loads of other magazines to chose from if you dislike W&H so much!! Foxie x. |

Hi girls I love the magasine too, have been reading it for about 4 years now. The balance always seems to be right, most of the articles hit the right spot! Agree some of the fashion pages are a little OTT but good for ideas. Recipes always seem to be good and not too difficult and always like to read about the featured house when there is one. |

Hear Hear to those who say why buy the mag if you don't like it!!!! Some of the forumers seem to moan constantly that this is not right or that is not right! Then buy a different bl**dy mag girls. No one forces you to buy W&H and I'm sure the girls who run the mag, from the Ed down, are doing their best. There is no pleasing all of the people all of the time (or some of the people any of the time it would seem) so I suppose they just try their best to please most of the people most of the time. They must be doing something right to have such a wide circulation and readership. |

Its the only mag that has any substance and caters for the 40plus market. However, will you please ditch Delia, been, gone had it....... |

Oooh, highlight of my month is when I get home from work and find my W&H sitting on the doormat. It means a nice cosy evening either in bed with my mag or in a nice bath - bliss. My Mum gets Good Housekeeping (sorry for the swear word....) and we swop, but I find it doesn't compare to my W&H. My copies get passed to my Mum, then her neighbour, then to my daughter! My younger friends tease me at work because they all get the gossipy celeb mags but they don't know what they are missing - who cares what Paris Hilton is flashing this week! Give me W&H anyday! |

I dont have a subscription to W&H but only because I want to support our village shop. In rural area,s village shops depend on regular custom. However, I love W&H, I have only been getting it for about 6 months but I instantly felt, "here is the mag I have been searching for all my life," after reading and re-reading my first copy. In rural area,s we dont have the opportunity to see the latest fashions, trends and make-up etc, I like to read the adverts as it keeps me in touch with whats going on. To all those people who moan, please remember, its the ad,s that keeps the price down for the rest of us, and I have to say, I do feel W&H to be the best magazine on the market for women. We are lucky to have it. If its not to your taste once or twice, accept it, we dont all like the same things, next month I might hate it but hey, you might love it. Horses for courses. |

Although it is a good mag, nothing is perfect so surely it is better for people to offer criticism as well as admiration and so long as the criticism is constructive then surely the editors must welcome the odd adverse comment to give them something to work at?. We don't want the mag to stagnate do we? I am enjoying the forum but have a book to read for my book club so must stop looking now!!! Mayday |

I have just discovered Woman & Home after many years. I discontinued reading it when the new format came in with all the advertisements and the magazine seemed to be aimed at much younger women. I do yearn for the old format with recipes, articles on home management and the simply wonderful knitting patterns. I did have a collection of old magazine until a year ago when I lost my partner rather suddenly and in my grief threw out lots of things I now wish I had kept. I am new to the Forum, having joined just yesterday after I had read the magazine a friend loaned me, so I am not sure what I am doing. I do use Skype which is wonderful and enables me to keep in touch with my family who are scattered around the country and have a sister in Canada with whom I have a video call with most evenings. Anyway this Forum seems like a wonderful idea, I would like to hear from similar minded women of my age (75) who also regret the passing of the old format of Woman & Home. |

Hi Kathleenjean Welcome to the forum! Looking forward to reading your posts. Dorset is a lovely part of the UK in which to live. I'm sorry to hear about your recent loss. Best wishes Foxie

Thank you Foxie for your lovely message, it is much appreciated. Yes Dorset is a beautiful county. I spent my childhood in Hounslow Middx, then lived for some time in Winkfield, Berkshire, but I am happiest where I can see the sea. |

Hi Kathleenjean Welcome to the forum. I am sorry too for your recent loss and I hope that you make many new friends here, I know you will. I used to spend all my childhood holidays in Dorset, my Aunt lived in Bournemouth. Used to love going to Durdle Door and Lulworth Cover and Sandbanks of course. Can you see the sea from your home? |
