Pale coloured print
|
|
Am I the only reader who has difficulty with the pale coloured print sometimes used in the magazine? Yes I'm getting on a bit and my eyesight isn't what it was but I can manage black print on white paper alright. It's the small print in green or pink I have trouble with.
Or maybe it's these stupid energy saving light bulbs that are the problem!

All graphic designers are young, with 20/20 vision......and they regard text as just the bits that fill in around the design (ie they never read it - I've never yet met a literate graphic designer in 30 years of briefing-in design). All the magazine's readers are over 35 and regard text as the whole point of the magazine. But their eyes are no longer up to white 10pt text on pink backgrounds, or similar little tricks. A bit of a mis-match, therefore!

Agree, rathbone. Lots of magazines don't match up to clear print guidelines. It's not all to do with age either - if you have sight issues, including colour blindness, you will lose out.

Wouldnt it be better if W&H was accessible to all......or as accessible as it possibly can be.....?

And I thought it was only me had the probs with the pale print! Mind you, if I put my glasses on, even the light grey comes into focus!
