W&H cover - Amanda Holden

Am I the only one who doesn't understand how she has a career???

She seems to me to be entirely devoid of talent!

Famous for being famous sums it up!

Yes, it does make me wonder who she knows (or who she's been with!) She's not even funny.

Re: W&H cover - Amanda Holden

Please tell me that she had been well and truly air brushed. I had to take a second look to check it was her.
Sorry that sounds a bit b....y.

Re: W&H cover - Amanda Holden

Well I'm not a big fan of hers, but she has actually done quite a lot of acting - things like Wild at Heart and Cutting It spring to mind, and lots of other things I can't remember the name of - plus she's done some stage work as well. She's certainly done far more than many of the so called 'celebrities' who really are just famous for being famous - Kerry Katona to name just one.

She has definitely been air-brushed though!

Salgash, I agree - I didn't recognise her on the cover at all (neither did my OH and he's far better at putting names to faces than I am).

Re: W&H cover - Amanda Holden

Dont you remember she married the then very popular Les Dennis when she was an unkown wannabee...she must be airbushed as she doesnt look that good on Britains Got Talent...I too had to take another glance tomake sure it was her...

Re: W&H cover - Amanda Holden

She is the kind of 30 something that W&H are now hoping will read their magazine - that's why she is on the cover - airbrush and all.

Re: W&H cover - Amanda Holden

Karen Fiona...Kerry Katona was in one of the biggest Girl Band of ( I think ?)the late nineties, early noughties.I am not saying they were that good but they did make alot of sales and worked hard to get where they did.Kerry suffered a breakdown ( which could happen to any of us ) and has been diagnosed with bipolar, which is a very debilitating illness.Although some of the decisions she has made have not been good,I think she has tried hard to get herself together despite being under the media spotlight.
Sorry if others disagree!!

I feel sorry for Kerry Katona as you can see she is unstable, the girl band she was in where very successful,I hope she gets herself sorted eventually...

Re: W&H cover - Amanda Holden

Yes but Kerry Katona's picture on the cover sells a lot of downmarket celebrity magazines.

What does it say about us if W&H think we will be tempted into buying the magazine with the constant stream of celebrities that they put on their cover?

Re: W&H cover - Amanda Holden

I think Kerry Katona has worked too hard at trying to please too many other people, adjusting herself to the situation and surroundings that she is in at that particular phase of her life, instead of using her life for exactly what it is. Her life.

Re: W&H cover - Amanda Holden

I'm one of the many 30-somethings who read W&H .. putting Amanda Holden on the cover would do nothing but but me off - especially as it had been so airbrushed it looked nothing like her. In fact, although I'm not a fan of Kerry Katona's, I'd be more interested in reading an interview with her than the sleep-inducing Amanda Holden (who I don't loathe, she's just a bit of nothingness really).

However, if W&H continue to airbrush their cover "star" in this way, I'll stop buying the magazine. I'm sick of magazines presenting this ridiculous, unrealistic image of women - I though W&H to be different, but if they're going to continue down this route, then my feelings towards the magazine will continue to change. I want to read about REAL women! Fame doesn't stop them being real ... airbrushing them to look "perfect" does.

Re: W&H cover - Amanda Holden

How silly and air brushed to the point of disappearing to my mind!
My guess is that the fairly high cost of the W&H magazine pays for those famous people to appear on the W&H cover and for all those glossy airbrushed far flung fashion shoot locations !!!

Come on W&H we all know we have the odd line or two. I for one like to see some of them, like my laughter lines

As LadyWillow so rightly says we would dearly like to see 'REAL women' who live in the real world and are down to earth. Not those who 'induce a sleep like state on oneself'

Re: W&H cover - Amanda Holden

She was good in the Grimleys which also had Noddy Holder in it from Slade.

I find it quite distasteful that a mag for grown women air brushes to such an extent that Amanda looks like a cute and slightely naughty teenager. Surely this kind of picture would be more suitable for a mens mag?!?

The picture really jars on my nerves every time I pick up the mag and I wonder what my daughter thinks when she sees me reading it?

Re: W&H cover - Amanda Holden

The airbrushing has to stop W&H other wise you run the risk of celebrities sitting in a pram waving a rattle around if they look any younger!!!!!
Its a joke it really is.

Re: W&H cover - Amanda Holden

that would be a good selling point - none of the persons featured in aticles in this magazine have been airbrushed.

It would be interesting to see which celebs & personalities would have the courage to have their photograph taken.

Go on W&H - do an airbrush free month. Dare you!!

Re: W&H cover - Amanda Holden

I would very happily support a "No Airbrushing " rule for W&H.
Cannot understand why the practice persists given that it gives a message that is at such odds with the W&H philosophy of enjoying life fully whilst being the person you are1

Re: W&H cover - Amanda Holden

I agree, Amanda looked like her teenage sister. I also had to look twice to see who it was. It would be nice to see people for what they are. Its a fact of life that you age as you get older, whether we like it or not. W & H should give up airbrushing clebs and show them for what they are.

Re: W&H cover - Amanda Holden

I saw Amanda Holden in M&S in Richmond last year. She is such a very pretty girl that it was her good looks that made me look at her first, then I realised who she was. I wouldn't have thought she needed much airbrushing.
