Fitflops

Just bought a pair today and have walked over 2 miles in them, They are so comfy, love them. Am trying to lose some weight too so hopefully they will help tone up. Anybody else tried them?

Re: Fitflops

I bought a pair and they arrived yesterday, unfortunately I find the toe post rubs on both my feet. They are the bronze ones. I wear all types of flip flops and have never, ever had this problem before, any suggestions anyone? Will the toe post soften over time?

Re: Fitflops

Hi SL
Which Fit Flops do you have? Did you rub anything into the toe posts to soften them? Help! I just want to wear them, but don't want to have sore feet!

Thanks

Re: Fitflops

Hi Foxie

I bought a pair last year and wear them nearly all the time (in warm weather), the are so comfortable. But in the beginning I had a problem on one foot with the toe post, I used elizabeth arden 8 hr cream when I wore them and this sorted it out. You can also use vaseline, hope this works

Re: Fitflops

I bought the gold ones recently and love them-will definitely order more. Have said before that I don't feel like I am getting toned legs or anything but they are so comfy I don't mind!!

Re: Fitflops

I have the same problem Foxie - I have the gold sequinned ones. I contacted the company and they just linked me to their FAQs which said it may be bacause my feet are too narrow so try going down a size. Definitely not my problem as my feet are wide.

Hi Biker_Babe and others, I have the bronze sequin ones and love them. Foxie, I wear toe posts all summer too, but these did cause a problem the first time I wore them, I went and gottoe sposts from boots, but just wore them no longer than two hours a day in the house for three/four days, and no porobs since, am going to get a pair of white ones for my hols as well. Biker_Babe, well done with the weight loss!

Another great fan of fitflops bought the green ones last year. They are so comfortable like walking on air, went shopping in Shrewsbury last week, normally my feet are killing me within the hr,walked around must have been 4 hrs,and still felt fresh.
Foxie have never had problems with the toe posts, smear of vaseline should do the trick...happy walking fitfloppers.....

Re: Fitflops

I have the bronze fit flops too. I got them about three weeks ago. I have to say I too had the same problem with the toe post and really rubbed on my second toe so bad it wore away a bit of skin and it bled ! So nearly gave up but left wearing them for a week or so and now I seem to have 'broke them in' and are comfortable again ! But I was so disappointed in the beginning.....

Re: Fitflops

I have the red ones for flopping about in and the silver sequinned ones for 'best'. Rubbed vaseline on the toeposts regulrly for awhile and didn't have a problem. Wore the silver ones every day on holiday last year. Great! Hope your feet recover and you get to like them. Mazl XX

Re: Fitflops

Hi and a big thank you to you all for your advice. I am rubbing cream into the toe posts and also my feet. I will go to Boots tomorrow and have a look at the toe posts too.

Glits - I have emailed Fit Flops to see what they say to me. I pointed out that I downloaded the foot guide to check I was buying the right size before ordering. I definitely do not have narrow feet, so will let you know what reply I get.

Re: Fitflops

I bought the bronze ones last year. I wear them all the time, very comfy but no sign of the toned legs!!
I wonder if its because I live in Birkenstocks or flip flops whenever I can and my legs are perhaps used to the certain way you need to walk.

Re: Fitflops

I finally bought a silver pair a couple of weeks ago and had to buy a size bigger, as I have wide feet. They look a bit too long but I was determined to have a pair!
So far they have been really comfortable, forget I'm even wearing them. I did have problems witht the toe posts but bought some of the protectors (Tesco do them as well) and now fine.
Haven't noticed any difference in legs though!

In case anyone is interested in my Fitflops..........

I bought the toe posts from Boots and unfortunately they gave me a blister on the sole of my foot!

I haven't heard from Fitflops despite emailing them, so will email again

I am now wearing them around the house in the morning and the evening to try and break them in!

Re: Fitflops

Hi Foxie, I bought another pair, the white leather ones, and they are fine at the toes but a bit tight across the top so also wearing round the house. Feel very decadent having spent £90 on two pairs of flipflops. Usually mine are £5 rom Asda or Tesco. I blame the forum.

Hi hussy
I am wearing my Fitflops at the moment. I put them on first thing in the morning and run up and down the stairs several times. I am wriggling my toes to try to soften the toe posts too!

Re: Fitflops

I have never been able to wear sandals with toe posts as they always hurt. BUT have just seen that you can buy these FitFlops without toe posts. So might invest in a pair as you all seem to find them so comfortable.

Thank you.

Re: Fitflops

I can't wear sandals with the toe posts, just make me feel funny wearing them and never found a comfy pair. I usually get Fly Flot sandals which are so comfy for walking to work in and no sore feet. I did treat myself to a pair of Skecher white shoes and they felt very comfy but walking to work they rubbed on my heel, Im hoping they will wear in eventually.

Yes they do if you look at the fitflops website you will find them they have only been on sale a few weeks and they are slightly more expensive than the toepost ones.

Re: Fitflops

Pinksweetpea,

you can get a sort of wax stick that you rub in shoes to stop them rubbing your feet and giving you blisters.

Carnation do one, and Boots do their own version. About £3.99. I always carry it in my handbag - even well worn-in shoes can rub in hot weather

Re: Fitflops

A Fitflops update.......

I have followed the forum advice and have been wearing FFs around the house in morning and evening. They have definitely softened up and the strap across the foot has given a little. The toe posts still rub a little, but not so much. I am gradually wearing FFs for longer and longer time. But, I still have not heard anything from my email.

Re: Fitflops

I bought a pair of silver ones size 6 (not the glitter ones) on line from Running Bare. I ordered them this week on Tuesday afternoon and they arrived on Thursday morning. They were £45 and post free. I don't know if they are silver Electra, but if you look on the site you will know.

Good luck

Re: Fitflops

I'm another of those who can't cope with toe posts - a 15 minute walk to and from the supermarket in my silver Fitflops and the bit between big and next toe was literally bleeding!
Bought some special toepost 'protectors' from Boots but they didn't make the effect any less agonising, alas.

Last winter, got the 'Billow' version - like boots - and they were very comfortable. Not wanting to give up on summer versions, have just paid another £50 (!) to acquire some of the bronze 'no toe post ' style Fitflops from John Lewis. Let's hope they're fine. Am waiting for it to stop being so wet to try them out!

Re: Fitflops

A word of warning ladies. I have worn in my fitflops (without toe posts) for a few weeks but tonight I had to walk over a slight slope with cobblestones in the rain and I slipped and fell my full length. Being a slightly 'mature' lady I was more concerned if anybody noticed than anything else (lol). It was like being on an ice rink. So be careful in the wet!

Re: Fitflops

Shellseeker, I initially had problems with the toepost fitflops (bronze too coincidentally) that I bought this summer. I put them on and thought they were really comfy and then made the mistake of wearing them out shopping. Between my toes was agony and I thought I'd paid out yet again for something that I couldn't wear, but after wearing them around the house for a while (with plasters on my toes) they softened and I can now wear them without any problem.

I appreciate the tip about not wearing them out in wet weather. Poor you, I hope your pride was the only thing hurt!
