W&H grumbles, how about...

I have been reading 'back' posts and a lot of us seem to agree that W&H does not cater for the average lady, either in fashion or make up prices etc.Or in makeovers of the older girls.

What do you think about perhaps once a month they run a budget issue, with cheaper ideas, clothes range etc.? Even through to the recipes and decorating themes. I appreciate they can't suddenly abandon their ethos and marketing plans but could they include a new format once a month? There are loads of ideas out there, they need only look to the forum!

It may be [as someone said] that they do get kickbacks for featuring top of the range stuff. I also think there is something to be said for the escapism, 'if only' stuff to give us a boost or a dream to chase. Good clothes DO feel gorgeous, and the cut and fabric can make a huge difference to how it looks on a not so hot body. Maybe they could help with advice such as, if you buy a good pair of trousers you can economise on tshirts. To be fair I think they DO do a slot where you can 'get the look'for less - or is that just for the shapes we are?

What do you think girls?

Good idea pegs. "She" has just done an "under £50" issue but they cater for a younger age group.

I would definatly like to see fashion featured for the more mature woman and at reasonable prices. I get fed up seeing something I realy like, just to see it will cost over £1oo.
Also,I would like to see make up and hair do's for woman who wear glasses!

I`d like to see the model in the expensive outfit and one of the mature readers in the same outfit/same pose.
Now that would be interesting.

I think they could show the expensive outfit and then show a simialr one with more affordable prices. A lot of mags do "Spree/Steal" features so perhaps W&H could do something along those lines.

I agree about features re glasses .

I agree. Mind you they had better be careful about the "mature" lady too. I may be that now but don't want to look old and frumpy before my time.

Iagree about the prices, I couldnt afford most of the stuff. Spree/Steal could be excellent.

most of it whats in the magazine is fantasy land now...nice to dream about for the day I win the lottery. I love bags, but I could have a holiday for the price of bags featured in the magazine!

Good idea - especially in this climate of financial difficulties
