PIGMENTATION MARKS

I have developed what I call pigmentation marks on both cheeks, one darker and broader than the other. This has been since 2005 when I arrived in the UK. I have used a few creams for this without success. Anyone knows of something that really works?

Ah, I've got those too but, apparently, I think they're worse than they are (been told by a beautician). I've wondered what's out there, some type of bleaching thing? Or has it got to be a beauty treatment in a salon?
Has anyone got any hints?
Oh and welcome tals, just realised it's your first post. Been here since the spring and it's a lovely place to lurk or post, whatever your fancy.

Sorry, dont have a cure but think its iportant that you use a high protection every day on your face to stop it getting any worse. Are either of you on the pill as I know that can make it worse.
Hope you get a solution as I know how upsetting it can be as I have a slight mark on my face too.

I have these too and have tried everything. Lancombe have a brillliant pen product which has worked on loads of people- not me.
I also thought this was to do with the sun, as I grew up at the seaside.
however I since got referred to a specialist and was told thst its hormones - the only evidence of my age!!!! They might even go later, however no sign of that.
They have given me various creams and they havent worked, next step is to check lasers. Although I already know the lasers can only work temporarily and marks caused by sun come back straight away if you go out in the sun.
Be wary of what creams you try and if they dont work then ask for a refferal to a specialist, the creams they have are better.
On a plus note Bobbi Brown do a really good corrector to cover them and a separate concealer.

I had this problem a few years back, brown patches at the sides of my mouth and on my chin which made my quite self conscious, it also became worse during pregnancy. I used a cream called Fadeout from Boots, its about £8 a pot. I think it works by gradually absorbing the increased melanin which is near to the surface of the skin giving rise to the brown patches. Now would be a good time to start as it takes approx 6 weeks of regular use to make a difference, you would also need to use the cream or a sun block in the sun to prevent and limit your exposure to the sun. It is very mild doesn;t smell very nice but does moisturise and contain vit e. Its worth a try my brown patches have gone, it may be worth asking a pharmacist for any ideas, or whether there are stronger preparations than the one in Boots, perhaps a beatician would be able to help or the advice of a dermatologist if it is really bothering you

This has been very helpful as it has confirmed a few points that I already know, like:one needs to use sun protection regularly and that some remedies work ffor other people but to everbody. I am not pregnant and think that mine might be hormonal as well because of age coupled with over exposure to the sun over many year, but do you know that sometimes I so wish to wake up to a flawless complexion once more.I guess I will try Bobbi brown corrector and concealer as the others I have tried before seem to make them more obvious.
I think I will enjoy this site, my first experience has been affirming and positive, thanks !

Hi am about to start a lazer course of treatment for sun damage pigmentation as nothing else has worked so will feedback when I know how it goes........

Please remember to report back Skitso because I look like a leopard these days. Hopefully this will be the year I will get around to finding somewhere good that does laser treatments.

Skin Ceuticals do a product for this. Quite expensive but work on scientific principles.

I have one of these pigmentation on my cheek, it has been there for the past 5yrs, but I am not pregnant, had a hysterectomy when I was 36 and been on HRT ever since. I am 49 so could HRT have done this to my skin
