Liz Earle polishing cloths

Hi,

Can anyone give me any advice on the polishing cloths by Liz Earle? I've heard people talking about them and am curious. Are they better to use to remove make-up than actual cleanser? I have quite dry and sensitive skin so use a cleanser for this skin type. Will they do for me or will they be too harsh?

How do you use them anyway - specific instructions please!

Re: Liz Earle polishing cloths

I would try her website as this is full of information. As far as I know you use the cloths with her cleanser and wash them in the machine as and when.

Hi Snoopy, they are brilliant little muslin cloths the size of a facecloth and they remove all makeup, grime from your face. They work in conjunction with her Cleanse & Polish which is the best product on the market and I can't live without it. It's very gentle. I have dry, sensitive skin and I've never had a problem with her products as they are all natural and smell gorgeous. Treat yourself.

Re: Liz Earle polishing cloths

My cloths got a bit grubby so I used to use ordinary tissues to remove makeup. I got cleanse and polish as a gift last christmas and it finished about 2 months ago, so hoping to get some more.

I did use cleanse & polish but dont now but I still have the muslin cloths and use them with other cleansers. They are great that you can just pop them in the machine.

I use them with other cleansers too. I think the point of them is that they have a mildly exfoliating effect.

You still need to use a cream cleanser though, they aren't 'wet wipes' (which I think you thought they might be?) 'Simple' do fabulous wet wipes to remove make-up if that's what you're after.

I take off the worst with a Simple wipe then use the cleanse and polish on slightly damp skin. I find it doesn't drag the skin so much and you don't have to use as much. I had 3 muslin cloths but can only find two now !! I think ordinary baby muslin would work as well and might work out cheaper. The exfoliating action of the cloth helps to give a smoother skin surface.

I knew I had read somewhere of an alternative. Is it the Skin Wisdom range? The Liz Earle is a bit pricey....but it works !! Mmmm...decisions decisions.

Re: Liz Earle polishing cloths

These polishing cloths sounded great so have just ordered myself 2. But will use my own Clarins cleansing milk up first as I have a nice stock still that will probably last me about 8 weeks.

Thanks for the tip.

Hi Thimble
I used to use Clarins cleansing milk and toner, but I switched to LE about 6 months ago and really liked it. Much cheaper than Clarins too.

I did try LE moisturisers but found they didn't have enough 'science' in them for my skin, so I have stayed with Clarins face creams and serums.

Re: Liz Earle polishing cloths

Thanks for that foxie. I have been considering switching some of my clarins products because of the expense. Like you though I will stick with the moisturiser as it really works for me. Will try LE toner when mine runs out and then the cleanser. What about hand cream? I use clarins hand and nail and it seem to keep my hands from looking "old". Any tips?

Re: Liz Earle polishing cloths

Hi Thimble
Regarding hand cream Miss F and I use Norwegian Formula, anti aging, SPF 15 hand cream. We get it from Boots. It is not very expensive and comes in a sky blue tube with the Norwegian flag on it. I like it because it sinks in and doesn't just sit on the surface.

I have been given some of the new Clinque body cream which polishes and smoothes at the same time. I tried it for the first time this morning and it absorbed really well and it doesn't have a strong smell either.

Re: Liz Earle polishing cloths

I have expensive stuff but recently bought a big tub of Boots Aqueous Cream which although it doesn't smell fab, is effective.
