Does anyone else struggle to get long boots to fit their legs?

I went shopping last night to bluewater, and must have been in about 7 or 8 different shoe shops to try to get a nice pair of long boots. There's plenty of them in the shops, but it doesn't seem that any of them will fit my legs.

Are my legs really that fat? or do they make all these boots only for women lucky enough to have very slim legs?

After the very deflating feeling of trying all those boots on last night in front of other people, I've decided to order some online, so I can try them in the comfort of my own home, and without sitting next to a teenager in a shoe shop who's spoilt for choice.

I've just read an artical actually that suggests a couple of places that sell wider fit boots, and it's made me feel a bit less alone. I'll put the link at the bottom if anyone else is interested in reading it.

One of the places it suggested was Evans, so I'm gonna have a look.

Has anyone else had the same problem, or do you know of anywhere else that sells wider legged boots?

Boots are toooo narrow but Wide boots flap about. And then It's the heel height I am having problems with, and they dig in round my ankles, too. Dooomed to wearing my old faithfuls.

Hope you have more luck online.

Help is at hand. You must try DUOBOOTS online. They have a few shops too. I have now collected four pairs in as many years, one arrived last week. The joy of getting decent boots and they fit!!!! Let us know if you pick some.

Re: Does anyone else struggle to get long boots to fit their legs?

I have the opposite problem my legs are too skinny so I can never find boots to fit me. However, like Gill2sq I have found Duo boots (have two pairs and currently dithering over a third!), they do a range of calf sizes and I can really recommend them. I'm fortunate that I can get to their shop in Bath so have no experience of ordering online.

Yep I have that problem. Duo Boots are supposed to bequite good. Altho quite expensive too. I once sent some boots off to be widened but somehow my legs have got bigger. Might have to get a zip put in them.

I too can recommend Duo, I purchased a pair last year in the Bath shop. Best pair of boots I've ever owned as my calf is skinny but a size 8 foot, any other boot are like wellingtons on me.

Don't be deflated tracy003 try Duo - they cater for all.

Hi, my boots are from Evans.I was thrilled when I found them.
I love boots but won't even attempt to try them on in other shops as I feel so self concious trying to get the zips up.
I had this problem even when my dress size was a 10.I think I must have really odd shaped legs!

Dec,

I bought some lovely boots a couple of years ago from Evans, they fitted so well and I felt so comfy with them on. They also do wide fitting shoes, which is good for a lot of people.

Tracy,
I remember my own quest for boots at Bluewater ended the same as yours and I felt really disappointed and deformed! There are several online retailers of boots for wider calves and although I can't recall the details I found them through Google so give it a go

Ihave wide feet(EEE) and wide legs. Can't buy any shoes or boots from shops and get mine from JD Williams/The Shoe Tailor. They have fashionable, well fitting footwear at reasonable prices.Incidentally,Williams have come a long way from their old "Granny" image.Check out their clothing too.Hope you find something.

Re: Does anyone else struggle to get long boots to fit their legs?

Thank you so much everyone for all your responses. I've had a good look at Evans and Duo,and their selections both look great. I've just ordered a pair from Evans, as they're a bit more in my price range at the moment, but if they're no good I think I'll wait a while and invest in a pair from Duo.
I'm trying not to get too excited, but I really hope they fit. I'll find out in a couple of days when they arrive, I'll let you all know.

Thanks again for all your advice, it's so nice to know I'm not alone.

Marisota (on-line and catalogue) have a good selection. They are the same company as J.D.Williams and The Shoe Taylor.

Hi Tracy,
