a work colleague at lunchtime yesterday kindly told me I was wearing odd shoes. I can't believe I didn't notice - especially as there was an inch difference in the heel. It was dark when I got up at 6am! Caused much hilarity in the office - I was a bringer of cheer and laughter! Has anyone else made a fashion faux pas? Nic x [image] [/image]

Love it Nic! No, I've never done it (to my knowledge) but can see how easy it would be to put on odd shoes when you're rushing out in the morning (especially now the mornings are getting darker). Sweetpeasue |

When I was at secondary school, we all had to get changed for field hockey. Couldn't understand why everyone was laughing at me when I came out of the changing huts? I still had my school skirt on under my hockey skirt. Oops! |

Oh the blisters!! At least yesterday I was only walking around in circles heheehe |

Odd shoes - frequently. Not so much now, but I went through a phase when I wore one black, one navy, or black in different styles. It was getting up o a dark morning and rushing about. The worst was at my son's parents evening, when his teacher told me he was a clever lad, but needed more organisation. I was so scared he would look down and see one black suede shoe, and one black patent. And you can't line dance in odd boots either! ..wispa |

Have seen a few peeps emerge from the loos with long bits of loo roll attached to the soles of their shoes. Tell them? Do you or don't you? |

I have gone to work with the same black patent court shoes but different heel sizes, no one would have noticed but my walk was a bit funny as I staggered down the corridor. The odd thing was that I didn't know I'd bought the same shoe with different size heels?!?!?!? |

I remember when I worked a nightshift once and in the winter I would wear a vest under my work shirt to keep warm. One night I was particularly uncomfortable as my vest felt a bit tight. I got my colleague to check the label and he read out to me, "Ladybird, aged 5 to 6"......I had put my son's vest on by mistake.....ooops. |

How about going to infant school and forgetting to put my knickers on. Only for the teacher to say 'Children, take off your top clothes we are doing P.E.today' Back in the fifties we did P.E. in our vests and knickers. |

You are certainly not the only one. I did it with shoes that were a totally different colour with very different heels. I wore them for a couple of hours and only found I started walking funny after I noticed the difference. L |

have been giggling all the way through this thread! haven't done the odd shoes trick, but it certainly wouldnt be the first time I have left the house without realising that the calm professional image I had gone for was let down by the rather fetching toothpaste stain I had managed to dribble down my front.... |

Im really embarrassed to tell you all this, but what the heck. I was out in town last week, and was in Debenhams looking at some perfume, this woman was giving me the weirdest looks, and to be perfectly honest, I was getting a little bit annoyed. I was just about to say something to her, when she nervously approached me and said" I hope you dont mind me telling you dear, but I think your top is inside out!!!! I rushed to the nearest Ladies and put it right side on. Oh well another senior moment. Plasmo xx |

I once had to do a product presentation at a big London advertising agency. I thought it went very well as was pleased by how interested the creatives/ exec types were in children's clothing (the products...),. I sat down, feeling relieved and glad it had gone well. My assistant leaned over and said "did you not know your blouse was open". Floor, swallow me up. |

This post has reminded me of a story that Spike Milligan once told on TV.he swore it actually happened! He said a friend of his had terrible diarrhoea at work, and the urgency of it was such as rtequired him to go home. On the way to the staion he suddenly had an attack and wasn't able to get to the toilet quickly enough. So, he went to the nearest toilet and did what he could but decided he would just have to dash into a clothes shop and buy a pair of trousers quickly, and he couldn't hang about 'cos of the smell, and he didn't want to cause offence. So, he dashed into a shop, picked out a pair of trousers, and ran up to the counter to pay.People were backing away at this point. He got his parcel and dashed to the station, embarrassed at having to wait on the platform with other people. The train came, he jumped on and when it started, made his way quickly to the toilet, poor man. He took his trousers and pants off and threw them out of the train window. Then he opened his parcel........to find a ladies' cardigan! It gets better! Spike Milligan swears that he, in desperation, put his legs down the arms, buttoned it up, and putting his bowler hat over his bits, he waited until the train stopped and jumped off! What our hereo did then, I don't know! |

Hi Kate, That wouldnt surprise me at all, and I believe the story totally, poor old Spike was a bit of a strange character wasnt he? he was a manic depressive poor man, but apparently a doting father. I have a book somewhere of his poems, they will certainly bring a tear to your eye Kate, if you like I will seek it out and bring it when we meet up. PLasmo x |

But did it make you laugh? I have some of his poems but would love to see more. Don't know if I told you but I am avid about poetry and have a huge collection. Is it an interest of yours too? |

Kate, I like contempory poetry, and if it makes me laugh, all the better, Im not really into what I call serious poetry. Plasmo x |

Very many years ago, when I was in my teens and at a dance,a very serious young man asked me to dance with him.I was wearing a strapless, padded bra at the time, suddenly realised that I had,how shall I put it?,4 boobs! I made my excuses and ran to the ladies to do a bit of adjusting. He later became a minister of religion!

Yep done the different coloured shoes and stockings one too, but worst for me was when I first met my hubby. We were going to the theatre so I made an extra effort - gorgeous trousers and gossamer top. Half way through the show I felt distinctly uncomfortable down my right leg to my knee, and when i felt up my trouser leg discovered a rolled up pair of tights hanging out the bottom of my trousers. When I'd last wore them I'd pulled my trousers and tights off at the same time, not removed them and just hung them back up ready to wear again. I had to shove them as far up my knee as I could, then make a dash to the ladies whilst it was still dark to remove the offending item!! First impressions eh

I went half way round Sainsbury's before someone told me my dress was tucked in my knickers (had used their loo when I got in the shop) - was years ago when I could wear skimpy knicks! No sisterhood there - why didnt someone tell me before!
